Palm Beach misses deadline, original numbers reported will stand; recount of overvotes

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — Florida's third-largest county failed to meet the 3 p.m. Thursday deadline for a machine recount in the state's Senate and governor races after mechanical issues hobbled the process, according to Susan Bucher, the supervisor of elections for Palm Beach County.
Bucher said the deadline passed despite a "heroic effort" by her staff. The blown deadline means the county's original numbers reported to the state will stand. The state's election results are to be certified by Tuesday.
Bucher said her office will wait for the go-ahead from the Florida secretary of state to begin a manual recount of 5,900 ballots in the Senate race for which there was an "over-count" or "under-count" — where machines interpreted that the voter either marked multiple candidates in one race or voted in some races but not others — to determine whether totals for Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., and Gov. Rick Scott, his Republican challenger, should be adjusted.

Failure to cheat effectively means no cheating. Is that your point? Wonder if you feel the same about the trump tower meeting. I mean. Hey failed to get dirt in Hillary, right? (Not that getting dirt is cheating, mind you).
