I have yet to see anybody ITT arguing against medically necessary abortions to save the mother's life. You're imagining shite

I believe that the medically necessary termination of a pregnancy (which is still an abortion) should be protected at the federal level. That’s all I said and several people have disagreed.

Personally, I would vote for virtually every “elective” abortion to be illegal. Though I don’t think a 14 yr old who was raped and subsequently impregnated should have to deliver the baby if her and her parents decide not to. But I don’t know how to legislate that so I’m ok with bare minimum protections for mothers and physicians when termination is a valid treatment. Abortion should be safe and incredibly rare. But at some level, and to some degree they must be legal

Democrats are so moronic that they think overturning Roe outlaws abortion nationally, when in reality abortion would still be available in over half of the states nationwide.

Shouldn't have taken 10 posts for someone to point this out. Overturning Roe does not "outlaw" abortion.

Every state would set it's own abortion laws, just like they did before Roe was decided.

When did I say people were against it? We are talking about federal protection for that specific scenario. Try to keep up.

Yup, uncontrollably hypertensive in an ICU and they’ll just have you head a few hundred (or maybe thousand) miles to another hospital in a state where these rare cases aren’t illegal to treat. Brilliant.

So that option isnt possible?

The Constitution doesn’t give the federal government the authority to prohibit a medical procedure - even one as heinous as abortion.

I guess if it makes things more complicated to protect the lives of babies, then we should just keep killing them.

Surely that's the thing to do.

No?

Let's say you are one of a pair of Siamese Twins.

Your twin elects to have a medical procedure to separate you two, with the guarantee that you would die.

There's no constitutional basis for a federal law prohibiting that?

Having a bunch of unwanted babies in our country isn't good for anyone.

If we are going off the wall here I'd rather nominate Tucker

Having a bunch of unwanted people of any age isn't good. It's the old people that really drain the resources.

So when should we start killing old people?

Where in the constitution does it give the federal government the authority?

I find it entertaining that so many people associate RBG with Roe.

RBG joined the Court two DECADES after Roe was decided.

Roe was decided by a GOP-nominated majority and written by a GOP-nominated Justice.

$100 says that the majority of sky-screaming abortion opponents are unaware of EITHER of these facts.

I am struck speechless. That is not a common occurrence.

She wasn’t even on the Court for Planned Parenthood v. Casey

Think about the social programs in place to support the poor. Maybe we should just kill them instead of supporting them. Same thing for criminals. Imagine if we just put a bullet in each head and didn't have to support the prison system.

I am for aborting all people in jail and prison along with all of the able bodied people on taxpayer assistance.

Imagine the "resources" we could save if we got rid of the fricking filth instead of a helpless fetus.

You people are so fricking stupid.

Even if the medical procedure is ending the life of another human being without their consent?

Let me make this as simple as possible. Go look at Act I, Section 8 of the US Constitution. Then come back here at tell me where “National prohibition of medical procedure” would fall under.
