I’ve become a huge fan of Trump as POTUS, but I need to know how we’re going to fund increased infrastructure spending and military spending after the largest tax cut in our country’s history without deficit spending. I’m hoping the Laffer Curve holds true. Otherwise, to be honest, the infrastructure spending reminds me of the stimulus bill and those “shovel ready” jobs from 2009. And, in all seriousness, is our infrastructure really crumbling?
Also, increasing the military budget overall has me questioning the strategy. When are we going to scale back operations overseas? If we stopped paying so much to be everywhere at once, perhaps we could use the existing funds more efficiently without having to spend more on what seems to be an endless hunt for Goldstein.
As I said, YUGE fan of POTUS Trump, but I don’t want deficit spending and I don’t want endless wars.

I liked it overall. Didn't really see too many faults. Perhaps, he could have stared at the dems more.
This doesn't bother me. Too many caveats added into that pillar. Makes it easy to not allow all 1.8 million of them. Plus, the 12-year plan is way longer than the average path to citizenship.

Everyone standing but the democrats after the story of the two families that had their daughters murdered by illegals. How can you seriously sit down after that? What a disgrace.
And those two families are black. Democrats are all about optics. Having the Dems, especially the CBC sitting during that moment looked very, very bad for them.

First of all, let me start by saying I was thrilled with the amount of specific policy iniatives in the SOTU. That's is something we haven't seen in awhile. Compare that to Kennedy's twenty minute exercise in speaking without saying anything.
Policy iniatives I oppose:
1) The Southern Wall. It will be a colossal expense without much effect. (I do really like the rest of the immigration initiative)
2) Expanding nuclear arsenal - its unnecessary. We have already have enough nuclear weapons to wipe everyonr off the face of the Earth.
3) Continued hostilities with Iran. This has been a poor foreign policy since 1954 and it seems like we are doubling down. Iran is ripe for an organic liberal revolution. We need to feed that instead of stoke foreign hostilities.
All in all, I thought he did a really good job and the democrats come off looking really, really bad to the American people.

Gonna add one:
3. Good that he mentioned opiods. Very happy that TRUMP is solidly ANTI-DRUGS. I only wish that he had gone further and basically said that we will annihilate drug dealers in the same fashion in which Wyatt Earp went after The Cowboys in Tombstone.
If we're going to have a War on Drugs ... then, by all means ... let's finally take the gloves off and have a real damn War.
Otherwise ... yeah, sure ... just legalize the shite and get it over with.
Opoids are a huge problem here in SC.
