I am still fired up today.

Our President was absolutely fantastic ... better than I ever imagined or hoped for ... and, good results sell themselves.

I can only recall 2 things that I did not like:

1) the amnesty / 12-year plan deal. Not a fan ... but, if it gets THE WALL ... then I can live with it. I can only hope that TRUMP knows what he is doing ... clearly, the plan is to have Republican control for at least 12 years.

2) the "paid family leave" business ... I can only hope that he was merely giving this lip service. The Fed Gov needs to stay out of this ... stay OUT of the matters of private business.

I disagree with you on the paid family leave.

We need pro-family policies. Worship of THE ECONOMY over the family is what is destroying the country.

The Federal government should NOT be able to dictate things like ‘Family Leave’ to private employers.

my only complaint was afterwards i'm sitting there enjoying the melt on CNN. My wife and I are audibly laughing. it's hysterical...and then they cut to some fricking kid ripped out of student council with jizz on his lips

I liked it overall but thought it was pretty thin on foreign policy. I would have liked to hear more about Iran, China, Russia, etc.

But it’s pretty hard to complain. Watching Trump make the Left look like total fools was enjoyable enough to make up for any shortcomings.

Many small businesses in which the owner is an active worker (landscaper, for example) cannot afford to pay some guy for six weeks just because his baby momma has a kid.

Pro-Family policies are policies that keep small businesses ... in business.

And ... again, the Federal Government has NO BUSINESS dictating this to the private sector.

Everyone standing but the democrats after the story of the two families that had their daughters murdered by illegals.

How can you seriously sit down after that? What a disgrace.

Amnesty is brilliant politically and it’s the right thing to do. Sorry, kids brought here should have a path to citizenship. Don’t punish them for their parents mistakes and our inability to enforce immigration. We are all responsible for kicking this can down the road so long.

If you recall this was one of Ivankas things. It’s not my favorite but it’s not a hill I’m dying on either.

Yeah sorry, I’m dumb. No way we should have to pay maternity leave for fathers. I thought this was about ensuring mothers could have a decent time home with the baby.

For the whole MS13 thing, I wouldn't have used the violent crime example.

MS13 is also notorious for sex trafficking. I'd have liked to see him go down that road for his example.

With all the #metoo stuff going on, I'd have loved to see Dems sit on their hands while the POTUS talks about trying to fight sex trafficking.

So ... we need to let any parent out of jail so that their kids are not punished?

We need to support drug using parents with welfare even more ... because kids might be punished?

AMERICAN kids are punished all the time for the mistakes of their parents.

Based on your avatar ... of course, you would not think this is a big deal.

Ivanka is not the POTUS.

She is hot and seems smart ... but, that's it. Let's not pretend that she's ever wanted for anything or been a small business owner under the gun.

I understand why he presented the ugly side of illegals. But, doing it that way almost implies they are all murderers, which I am not sure was the way to go. Hannity did a better job of that immediately before the SOTU by playing a clip of Slick Willie saying illegals take er jerbs. Trump should have just quoted WJC.

I don’t like the paid family leave thing. I think it’s an overstep.

I’m iffy on the path they’ll try to take on the pharmaceutical costs being lowered. If they deregulate to make it more competitive and let the market drive it down I’ll be fine with it, but if they try to lower the costs with regulations I’m against it.

I don’t think that the military budget should be increased. I think the military spending should be streamlined and red tape be removed so that the existing budget is better spent. It would be like increasing the effective money with no increase in tax payer burden.

That’s my main complaints. It was a killer speech though.

Democrats are so deranged about Trump, it's possible the only way he can get a secure border with the wall is with "amnesty" to some degree. I think the biggest concern is you'd be delivering the Dems the country for the next 20 years.

However, let's just say that we only deal with the 800,000 that Obama put under DACA vs the additional 200,000 Indians and 100,000 from Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, Bangladesh, the Philippines, China and even 50,000 from Haiti. What is a more favorable mix? Trump did pretty poorly with Asian-Americans, but absolutely crushed it with Indian-Americans. The median household income for Indian-Americans is one of the highest in the country, almost $90k. I think strategically you have to look at the two options, and weigh what the net voting patterns would be.

You have to get 9 Democrats, as well as every Republican to get this done. Dems will stall for a DACA continuation or a "clean DACA" because most Americans support DACA. If they ever get that, the window is gone. This is a very fluid situation, and I think Trump's proposal was the right first step.

Normally I would agree, but you have to understand how many Millennials hate capitalism. We either need Trump's populism, or we will slowly march to Bernie's socialism.

I hated the (seemingly) forced applause that drug a 30 minute speech to over an hour, applause is warranted at moments but they take it too far.
