Remember everyone here bitching about how Entergy is a monopoly and they paid off the PSC and Texas was so much better a few weeks ago?
My electric bill last month was $67.

It’s not gouging. It’s the market.
Futures contract $3/MMBtu for Henry hub natural gas, approximately.
Spot market $9000/MMBtu.
And you don’t think markets matter?
Lock in a price you think is reasonable and you can afford. If you elect to be penny wise and pound foolish, that’s on you. You weren’t paying attention when you were taught economics and capitalism, supply and demand. Too bad.

I live in California and that’s about what I paid all of last year with no solar panel system. What is going on out there to cause increases like that?

I know I am going to get lumped in with "ohh conspiracy", but I find the timing of all this to be very coincidental when Texas is pushing back hard against the Fed.
Who has control of the weather machine?

They are using griddy and that is why their bills are so high. They are paying for wholesale electricity. 99.9% of the time it works out in their favor. This is the one time it didn't. They need to STFU because they knew what they signed up for.

Anyone on the wholesale market is screwed in this kind of scenario.

The screenshot was probably taken on the 18th, or the 18th was the last complete day of usage recorded. It's just the amount for the month to date.

China is massively expanding its weather-modification program, saying it will be able to cover half the country in artificial rain and snow by 2025
China's government has announced that it is expanding its weather-control project, which creates artificial rain and snow, by fivefold.
The State Council said Tuesday the project will soon cover 2.1 million square miles and be ready by 2025. That is about 56% of China's entire surface area.
China is one of dozens of countries using "cloud seeding" to try and manufacture good weather conditions for crops or to prevent natural disasters.
"Cloud seeding" involves spraying chemicals like silver iodide or liquid nitrogen into clouds, where water droplets condense and fall.

Thats exactly what happened. They privatized and customers enjoyed lower rates bc there was less regulation. As a result, TX also wasn't tied into the larger grid, so they cant get power from other areas.
TX didnt winterize there equipment like they were warned a while ago.
And frick you too. Nothing political about it other than the fact that Republican leadership in TX chose this route. Now they want taxpayers to bail them out.
You know damned well if this shite happened in California, you would be yelling from the rooftops that the libtards murdered people.
So frick you in your stupid butthole
