The whole thing had died by Tuesday, except for a couple of late night shows doing jokes. Had he just shown a current NHC forecast at his briefing yesterday, it wouldn't have even come up again.
By the time he made the initial tweet on Saturday, there was no real threat to Alabama. I'm sure it was mentioned as possible earlier in the week and he kind of conflated the information since he mentioned the increasing threat to GA and SC.
The actual problem now is the President is tweeting very outdated forecasts while there is a hurricane actually affecting the Carolinas to "prove" he was right about a mistake he made Saturday.

I’m all MAGA but his behavior here is just bizarre. There is a hurricane and tornadoes from that same hurricane destroying things in other states as we speak and he won’t give this up. While I guess he is technically right, the chances of this thing hitting Alabama were so small. Granted, the media won’t give it up either, but I gotta be honest he looks pretty dumb here imo.

I know, they're stupid. I get my daily laughs watching them use tortured attempts to bail out drumph every time he says something really stupid. He can't help himself. He has been surrounded by sycophants and toadies his entire life and has never had to admit he was wrong about anything. So he just blames everyone else. It's funny/pathetic but it's the gift that keeps on giving. And the trumpanzees melting is just icing on the cake
