Yes ... he was making a gay correlation, an implied outing of Napolitano which, everyone already knew anyway since his book flopped. (Napolitano ‘s book)

I think many folks are deeming it counterattack. Nap made a very obvious and mysterious sharp turn to the left...noticeably soured on Trump. Trump needed to respond because that is noteworthy, Fox News' main legal analyst suddenly doig this. May turn heads. So Trump body checked him. Did Trump's tweets appear pretty personal, yes, but it was necessary to illustrate the most obvious reasons why Nap soured on Trump. I mean hell, the evidence didnt change yet Nap's opions did. And that, to me, is strong evidence of disingenuous activity.
ETA....I believe the Shepherd Smith reference was really intended to show that Nap's tight with the main Trump hater at Fox. No pun intended.

Someone has something on Nap and reminded him so after the Mueller report came out and didn’t provide the result the democrats wanted from it.
So they decided to push collusion. And Nap got a threatening reminder and his marching orders to assist the push. I don’t know what he’s being blackmailed with but I would bet it is most likely sexual harassment, assault, underage type stuff a la Dennis Hastert. Second guess would be financial.

The headlines will lead you to believe it's "friend of Nap" for the pardon. So I guess leaving "pal" for Shepherd. Shepherd being a Never Trumper it could be intended to lump Nap in with Shep..."guilt" by association. Perhaps.
