Some guy on Fox already saying it's illegal to single out a country like this.
Did we single out China for the tariffs that have been in place for over a year?

It's also illegal to illegally enter this country so I would call it a wash.

Whohoo!

However, I personally think he should have simultaneously announced a tax on remittances to Mexico and the Central American countries.

That would incentivize people to leave.

I just can’t get over the idea of a wall. It just seems so unamerican to me. Whatever, this tariff is a step in the right direction. Hopefully visa reform is next. It’s amazing to me we have this many government employees and yet people are able to overstay their visa’s for sometimes YEARS without getting caught. Fricking incompetence at its finest

5% of 350 billion per year should get that wall built in no time.

Have those numbers been confirmed or is that just speculation?

There is absolutely nothing fair to American importers and consumers about this.

The president should not have this much power to tax. The SCOTUS should look at the authority Congress has given him because such power is not in the Constitution.

What exactly does he want done? Will American retailers ever trust him again?

Imagine sitting there with POs issued for $5 or $10 million worth of Mexican made cars or produce or appliances and all of the sudden out of the blue your own country grabs 5% of it???

Sadly, it's not "incompetence" T, it's the Dem Party replacing the votes that they lost in the Rustbelt...via illegal entry. It's Alinsky (Marxist radical strategist that wrote "Rules for Radicals", and who HRC wrote her College Thesis on). Alinsky was brutally efficient, and smart.

Hillary has openly said that in her ideal situation, people would be able to "walk back and forth" from North to South America. She means it; so does the Dem Party. They are Democratic Global Socialist, and will likely be the cause for our Democratic REPUBLIC being abandoned, for a hopefully temporary Authoritarian governance. No choice.

The stock market has been hanging by a thread lately with the China tariff rhetoric. Market futures just tanked on this latest news. Trump needs to be careful here because the last thing he wants is a market crash going into the election next year.
