Completely leaving out the debate of whether it's "right or wrong", it's still a fact that shooting down a drone is a federal crime. Yes, even a private drone.

Now, consider the location. In somewhere more red and conservative, LEO just might look the other way or ignore a little evidence here and there because they don't like the stupid FAA law either. But this is NJ we're talking about. They'll bring the full weight of every local, state and federal agency down upon you.

This is true. However, as these things get bigger and bigger in the hands of untrained idiots. One of these days one will bring down an airliner with about 300 people on it. That will be the end of everyone claiming they have the right to throw something up in the air, that they have no idea how to control.

99% if these idiots with their own drones, have no idea about FAA regulations. Now that you've got drones the size of Oldsmobiles. Somebody's going to screw it up big time one day.

They know one rule. "You can't shoot down my toy."
