Center pivot systems.
Here are some better pictures showing center pivots. These were taken flying into Seminole Texas about 30 miles from Hobb’s New Mexico. You will not see these circles around Seminole muck longer because the aquifer is being pumped dry. The farm I flew out to see had a center pivot on it covering 400 acres. It had 30 wells tied to that one pivot. The wells averaged pumping 30 gals/minute. There are wells on farms here in North Alabama that pump 3500 gal/min per well.

always wonder, why do they grow crops in circles like that?
Irrigation systems that use a single central well with irrigation piping extended in a long arm running the radius of the circle. The pipes have wheels, so they turn the pipe to water everything in the cirle.

Well, the number of people in flyover states has a direct relationship with electoral college votes, so...

I am old enough to remember who George (41) Busch didn't know what a gallon of milk cost and was crucified in the news cycle for months about it. But I am pretty sure he would know why the ground looks likes that?

On an actual serious note, family friends north of DFW who lived on a dairy farm had to convince a nephew from Midland that milk came from cows and not a carton. Nephew's dad was a geologist. Eldest daughter of the dairy farmer became a Fed judge, h.s. graduating class of 6.

Don't listen to anyone else, that's ancient alien territory and crop circles.
