Oil profits are bad - WSJ

What about big Pharma or Software?
They scream at oil companies for profiting yet not a peep at pharma or software companies. It would be interesting to see the profit percentage of the gross income among them all for a much better perspective of who the gougers are.
I would love to know the taxes earned by the gooooooberments, especially gas taxes, as well as all other taxes paid by pharma and software.

But they ignore years when oil company profits are down or they lose money.
When the Biden crime family's profits are reported is when I will care.

They do, you just haven't seen it...they're always going after pharma and tech. The new chair of the FTC was appointed because of the policy articles she had written on big tech...she has since swung the sword of the FTC far and wide and into the energy biz too.

The Wall Street journal… who prints economic news, market news, business news, etc… is talking about a business’ good profits being bad?
That makes that paper… well… useless.
Everything woke absolutely turns to shite.

No, they are not. The article discusses the earnings, investor desires for cash returns v reinvestment and the Biden admin reaction to dividends and limited reinvestment.
Gov also reacted when CVX announced a $75B share buy back.

No, they aren't. There isn't a shred of bias against the oil company from the WSJ. They, however, cover the attacks from the Biden admin and others:
quote:
Investors’ concerns around environmental, social and governance-related issues are a constraint on the share prices of energy companies, “yet the earnings power of these businesses is superior to the earnings power of companies in other sectors,” he said.
Chevron and others have faced criticism from the Biden administration and others that they are giving priority to shareholder returns over pumping oil and gas at a time when global supplies are tight and Americans are feeling pain at the pump. On Thursday, the White House assailed Chevron’s $75 billion buyout program, saying the payout was proof the company could boost production but was choosing to reward investors instead.
That's not the WSJ's opinion. That's just covering the president, as they should.

What is the percent of profit on total revenue?
Total profit doesn’t matter.
Big pharm makes higher percent profit bs big oil.

Better question is what is the guaranteed profit of the member banks of the Federal reserve?

It's straight out of the playbook.
Oil is always the bogeyman while the MIC runs a play abroad.

It is subliminal. "Ukraine War and Biden energy policies push oil profits to record heights for Chevron" is the reality!!

This is an opinion piece
One of the most wonderful aspects of this country capitalistic system is that mineral rights can be privately owned
There is a strong belief in this country and the world that the government ought to own the mineral rights
Liberals believe that if the government could gain ownership of all minerals- oil- gold etc… they can speed up the road to a system that can fund the government, eliminate capitalism and relegate citizens to full reliance on the government.
This is why they vilify oil profits at every chance. They want that money and believe to their core that it does not belong to private enterprise
