Is that down to $88 or up to $88?
Down to.
You going to melt over a downward gas price trend?

Peeps talk about oil but forget about the ferrilizer.

Mars, a platform off LA, is at $125.
This is not a global benchmark for oil commonly used for gasoline and diesel
Mars is medium sour crude and is currently so expensive because it is being sought as an alternative to the Iran heavy crude that is used a lot by China for asphalt and fuel oils. Mars only produces about 90,000 barrels a day

Marathon Garyville, LA LOVES it for its gasoline machine of a refinery. Now tell me again that you know little about refining. Garyville is a heavy high sulfur crude refinery configuration. Mars has high residuals (asphaltenes) content thus can supply a refinery built for heavy and very heavy crude oil.

Oil prices never even hit the "abolish oil" highs of Biden's presidency.

Good thing some of these self proclaimed crude experts aren’t working in a refinery

I’m willing to wager that gas won’t be sub $3 until Christmas

No, I am elated. I have not kept up with oil prices and asked a legit question, hoping it was downward. That is good for Trump and the GOP.

How much are you willing to wager?

The vast majority don't, including "oil men". For an example an older friend who had ownership in wells around the world only knew how much he was paid. He had zero clue that assays made a difference into which blended oil cocktail and which refinery his crude oil was suited for. He did pretty well living only in luxury hotels since the 1960's. He lived in the Savoy in London most of the 1970's putting together deals for North Sea fields. HIs share being 5% without putting up any money. When he did put up money he never owned more than 15% in a field.

If tweet fails to load, click here. i wonder how much actual oil there is for all the paper contracts that's driving down the price of oil? i know that the price of gold has been controlled by paper contracts where there is no physical gold/silver to back the contract if one wanted to take delivery. This post was edited on 4/15/26 at 7:04 am
