Governor Mike DeWine
@GovMikeDeWine
We will be issuing an order closing all bars and restaurants in #Ohio beginning at 9:00 tonight.

Establishments can stay open for carry-out and delivery. What we can't have is people congregating and seated.

I'm aware that this will impact many, many good workers. I can't tell you how sorry I am, but we will work to mitigate the suffering. It is our goal for everyone to get through this.

Every day we delay, more people will die.

If we do not act and get some distance between people, our healthcare system in #Ohio will not hold up. The loss won't only be those impacted by #COVID19, but the danger is also to everyone else who needs hospital care for other issues.

We’ve truly crossed insanity.

Dr. Amy Acton is inciting panic. She’s a POS. Multiple Wuhans in Ohio? Not enough respirators and ventilators? I’m more afraid of people’s reactions than I am of the virus right now.

It takes some balls to basically shut down your state's economy like that. We're going to see more and more states do that and other measures very soon.

I’m not a fan. This should be up to patrons.

But I do think the state should implement strict sanitation rules for establishments that remain open.

Like frequently sanitizing door handles and games and such.

And what are they going to do when they see the hospitals are fine but the economy and several businesses are then on their knees?

She's the one that claimed there are already 100k cases in the state.

This is a legit concern that social distancing will help with.

But I disagree with the decision. It should be up to patrons. Establishments should be asked to sanitize frequently and maybe have reduced occupancy

They'll look at Europe and see hospitals AND entire economies on their knees and think they made the right decision.

He was, we just replaced him with another. Both like the limelight and will risk looking like asses to stay in it.
