The mission to rescue the missing U.S. airman In Iran was “executed pretty effectively,” former CENTCOM commander Ret. Gen. Frank McKenzie says.
“It takes a year to build an aircraft and it takes 200 years to build a military tradition where you don't leave anybody behind.”
McKenzie says it also serves as “a hard lesson for Iran,” as the regime’s inability to find the airman after offering a reward to the Iranian people “may be a sign of disaffection.”

US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Axios that the United States initially worried that a message from the stranded crew member of the F-15 downed by Iran may have been part of a trick set by Iranian forces to lure US forces into a trap.
He said the crew member survived more than 24 hours in mountainous terrain before being rescued in a special forces mission involving around 200 troops.
“Thousands of these savages were hunting him down,” Trump said, referring to Iranian forces, adding that US officials later confirmed the airman was alive and not in captivity.
Trump also said Iran had shot down the aircraft with a shoulder-fired missile and that Israel helped “a little bit” during the rescue effort.

Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table.
"If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said.
I asked if there’s anything off limits.
“Very little,” he said.

On April 4, U.S. forces successfully completed the rescues of two American service members from Iran after their F-15E fighter jet was shot down April 2 during a combat mission.
The service members were safely recovered during separate search and rescue missions.
U.S. strikes into Iran continue as U.S. Central Command forces dismantle the Iranian regime’s ability to project power beyond its borders.

The UAE insists even if there is a ceasefire, Iran can not remain in control of the Strait of Hormuz and calls the Strait everyone's problem.
“This issue (Hormuz) has to be part and parcel of the settlement of any conflict, with clear agreement on that," said Dr. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President.

When I asked the president about his comments to Fox that there could be a deal tomorrow — he said he didn’t know if there would be, saying “I have no idea with these people.”
"There could be a deal, and there could also not be a deal. I don't know. I have no idea with these people, they're getting the shite beat out of them, and that's, that's all I can tell you. There's been no country that's ever taken a pounding like that."

The president tells me he was testing NATO.
"This was a test for NATO, I didn't need them, but I wanted to test them.”
“I said, I'd love to have you guys get involved. And they said, well, we can't do it. I said, Oh, that's okay. I didn't even give him a hard sell. They probably said, Oh, he's a terrible salesman. Because all I did say, love to have you be involved.”
“I was doing that as a test. I didn't need that, right? They're a paper tiger. Paper Tiger. They have no ships. They have no nothing, and Putin has zero fear of them," he said.
"But I did it as a test."

Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responds to President Donald Trump:
"Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands.
Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes.
The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game."

To the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps!
Today, few doubt that all that remains of the system of Velayat-e Faqih is a half-dead corpse, and that you are the real decision-makers of this crumbling edifice, as a result of five decades of adventurism and crime.
Your misguided regional policies and apocalyptic madness have turned Iran into the stage for this war. The economic infrastructure that you have deliberately militarized has come under the sights of two powers that have been prowling Iran's skies for weeks. These infrastructures were built with Iran's national wealth and are vital for the country's reconstruction.
The corrupt Islamic Republic regime is doomed. Your choice is not between survival and downfall; it is between how to fall. The end of the current path is handing over a scorched land to the Iranian nation after your inevitable collapse.
For Iran, for yourselves, for your children, abandon these adventurisms. Do not make Iran any bloodier and more wounded than this. Let the country's infrastructure be preserved for the Iranian nation. Put an end to your crimes. Step aside from power.

Why haven’t we eliminated Ghalibaf.

It was clear what he meant.
After observing that poster for period of several years, I also think it was clear what he meant. Just not what you said. He meant that the US "blew" $300M, with the same negative connotation that word almost always carries when people talk about blowing money; frivolously or wastefully or unnecessarily spent. Which is incorrect for multiple reasons in the context of this rescue.
