I managed to speak with a few people inside Iran.
People are deeply worried about what will happen after these forty-eight hours, worried about power outages and losing the sliver of connection they have with the outside world through television and satellite, worried about losing connection with others through telephone lines, fearful of living in absolute darkness...
I promised here to be the voice of the people inside, and this is an undeniable part of those voices.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Time to ask Ukrainian friends what the best way to take these systems out. Time to start paying us back for the aid we have given them with some of the knowledge that they have gained in 4 years fighting these systems,

Speaking of that, this footage will look familiar to students of the Russo Ukrainian war

It is believed to be the reason behind the heavy losses sustained by the US Air Force over the past 24 hours
I've been out of the loop. What are the heavy losses?
Posted on 4/4/26 at 3:25 pm to wdhalgren
One F-15 and 2 or 3 others clipped but not disabled

Nate getting a chubby for Hezbollah now.

Not to minimize any US loss of life or equipment, but I have to wonder about the objectivity of any source calling that "heavy losses".

Good enough for me.
Not good enough for you?

Also time to start seizing a lot more Russian flagged shadow fleet tankers.

Russia has a very small number of these, they protect Moscow from drones and missiles, and don't seem to do a very good job. Moscow can't afford to give any of these up.
The F-15 never had a radar lock on it, ground systems like that would cause an alarm in the F-15. Most likely a manpad from everything I have read

Passive radar.
It wouldn't surprise me if China has systems deployed in Iran.

Low flying F15 and other low aircraft probably hit with manpads. If they got the new Russian system, they would have hit more islreali or US aircraft or been destroyed.

Passive radar can’t provide a targeting data, just tell you something is there

The S-400s have taken down some of our F-16s in Ukraine, supposedly.
Posted on 4/4/26 at 4:35 pm to phaz
They're using Chinese heat and infrared systems to shoot down and hit the aircraft.
The old Russian systems like the S-400 suck against Us Airpower, so Iran (loaded with intelligent engineers) pivoted and started developimg their own systems after the 12 day war, and imported new Chinese systems.
They don't use radar detection to track their targets. That's why the US is getting hit now. They will have to adapt to avoid being hit more.

Reports that US paratroopers were deployed by helicopter in the Charusa district of Kohgiluyeh County in southwestern Iran to rescue a missing US F-15E pilot are not true, the county governor Iraj Kazemijou said.
Earlier IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News reported that US paratroopers were seen in the area and had clashed with local forces
