This will be one of the worst foreign policy mistakes ever if he does this. Send in another radical muslim group to wipe out another one, who will also not only kill their opposition but ever non-muslim as well. Then Syria will have it's forces on two separate borders with Israel....
How do you think Israel would respond to that?If he does this, then he truly does not understand islam and the middle east. He thinks its all business deals and money like the western world. He has no concept of the ideology that these people follow...
And even if he is not serious about this, why bring that up or even make this statement for the second time? That only emboldens all the terrorists in the region. It makes them think they will be able to wage jihad in the future with the backing of the USA. Just a bad look overall.

Exactly and the Christians, Druze, Jews and any other non muslim will be caught in the crossfire.
If he thinks Israel knocks down too many buildings now, let the HTS start operating with impunity in Lebanon and see what happens. They would have to raze the country to root them out.
Just look what the HTS has already done in Syria. When Trump got Ahmad al Sharaa into power, he effectively gave Al-Qaeda/ISIS their own state to wage Jihad in and from.

President Trump is the only president of the last seven to even challenge Iran, much less initiate any military action. He's the only one to even test them. All the rest wouldn't so much as lift a finger to Iran. Iran doesn'’t care who the next president is, flaming liberal or not, as long as it ain't DJT.

What is this “won’t be contained” nonsense as if Sunnis and Shias have ever gotten along lol It’s amazing how many people have become foreign policy experts since Trump became President. It’s almost as amusing as the “virologist” who came out of the woodwork during Covid who thought wearing a mask made out of their aunt’s Walmart fabric was the key to stopping Covid! Trump is trolling these people. He's stirring the pot for some reason, and I'm convinced as a few others here are, that this ain't over by a long shot. I don't know, but just gut feeling all this negotiations and Trump crazy talk is distraction. I'm certainly hoping something else is working that we don't know about.
