Why would any reasonable able body republican choose to mail in their ballots? Dont trust usps to deliver. Plus there is no way to know who voted or check their ID if they do mail in ballots.

Mail-in votes should be illegal. As should early voting. It is not difficult to go out and vote on the day of election.

I’m fine with early voting. Mail in ballots is dumb unless you are doing absentee.

100%. Just think about how many people have to touch those ballots before they get counted.

I disagree with this. As long as it’s legal, we should be utilizing it. We’re all just one family/work emergency, or a bad traffic jam after work away from not being able to vote.

We are currently giving Dems a full month of a head start in some states to mobilize, legally harvest ballots, etc. We aren’t serious about winning until we start fully engaging the early vote.

A European friend of mine wrote the following to me:

Every single voting issue the Republicans complain about would be illegal in every single EU country, starting with voter ID.

In the EU, IDs are not handed out by the DMV, by simply showing your gas bill. They are serious, state-issued and checked IDs, comparable to passports.

For security reasons, not a single EU country allows voting machines. EU states also don't send out mail-in ballots. Those have to be requested under very strict security and verification guidelines. Mail-in voting is usually only possible in very limited circumstances.

Vote harvesting doesn't exist. I'm also not aware of places where ballot boxes lying around days or weeks.

If a small, poor, struggling democracy were to hold elections under US conditions, there would be a huge outrey from the West.

Western election observers would seriously question the integrity of the vote etc.

There is not a single EU country where you would have to wait for days let alone notentiall weeks to find out who won.

Some people don't have a choice:

Old people who are sick, confined to nursing homes or without transportation.

Active military, ex-pats and business travelers who are temporarily overseas or out of their resident state.

People who live in very rural areas that don't have easy access to a voting location and/or have jobs (like milking the cows) that can't be abandoned for the day.

When you vote by mail, drop box or ballot harvester, you didn't actually vote.

You gave someone else the opportunity to vote twice.
Once by handing them the power to cancel your vote; and twice because they have their own vote to use.

Disagree with this. Early voting is not an advantage for any candidate and if done like in Louisiana where you have to provide ID it should be free from shenanigans. My. Either I’m law and sister are headed on a mission trip tomorrow. They would not be able to vote if not for early voting.

Disagree. Early voting by machine is good. We are suppose to have three days of decent rain here starting today where I live. I went and voted this past Tues. on a sunny warm day and was in and out in 10 minutes.

Yeah conservatives are really pushing mAiL-iN voting this time and I have no idea why, when the USPS itself always endorses the radical Democrat. Oh, sure, they're going to 100% make sure all those Trump ballots from heavily Red areas make it in, right?

I will only ever vote in person, same day, on a paper ballot. If I'm forced to do it any other way, I don't believe my vote would be counted. Hell, I honestly don't even trust same day paper ballots, but at least I have a tiny bit of faith that they actually mean something.

I early voted absentee in Madison County, Mississippi. Had to go to the Clerk of Court's office, fill out an application and was then given a ballot to fill out. After completing the ballot, I had to have placement in the envelope witnessed and I had to sign the envelope to validate the seal. I then deposited my ballot in a locked ballot box which was under human supervision.

I mean, I get that. And if you're comfortable enough with that then good.

I'm just saying I provide ID, get signature verification, fill out my ballot, scan it in and then get the print out showing my choices right there in the voting location. And I don't even trust that, even though I was literally the only person to ever even see my ballot completed.
