This. Exactly I couldn't have said it better.

I definately wouldn't want to be admitted to a hospital that will likely rather watch me die than give a proven yet not FDA approved treatment. You get in that situation it literally takes an act of the governor to get you free from its grip.

Happening to the therapy clinic where my wife works. Medicare threatening to not pay if workers treating patients are not vaccinated

The whole mandate IMO is a crock of shite BUT if a company or state want to impose them ON THEIR OWN I'm fine with it.....yay US Constitution
Yay for authoritarian leftists figuring out how to use legal loopholes in our capitalist society to impose a loose version of shadow fascism! Yay! Soyboy dumbfrick

Well, still, there are hospitals in Louisiana that have suspended the mandate for their employees pending these court cases.

If they are medical professionals they will have 20 offers from other medical facilities before the sun sets.

Having control over people (Fed mandate) and discriminating are not the same no matter how many times you say it.

Per nola.com, Ochsner has fired 280 employees that refused to be vaccinated. Ochsner system workers in Shreveport/Monroe
This is a hospital system there?? And they fired these workers with a stay in place?
They have stupid leadership. Absolutely idiotic.
When these people leave… that puts more pressure on others and they are going to walk too. That 280 can easily turn to 320 based on overburdened other workers. especially if they are nurses.
The local system here yanked the mandate as soon as the ruling came down. They were in deep shite if they had to remove a lot of people. They run pretty razor thin on staff as it is. If they lost 100 nurses they would have to close floors. Plus, they are the lowest paying hospital around for nurses so they would have problems replacing them.
They didn’t think that firing through. But they will blame the shortage on Covid and not their own stupidity.
280 person loss of staff is a lot. Hell… that would be a lot for the FedEx hub in Memphis.

That makes Ochsner board members sound like prostitutes.
It also suggests Ochsner would benefit from the Courts providing cover. If Ochsner is told by the Courts that it cannot fire employees because of vax status, then Medicare and Medicaid can hardly hinge reimbursement on a vax mandate.
If I were Ochsner, I'd lose the coming La. Supreme Court appeal as fast as possible.

This should end all of the public mandates.
We clearly dont' have mandates to keep the hospitals from being overrun.
They apparently have more workers than they need.

Anyone under the gun needs to file for a religious exemption. To my knowledge, even Ochsner had to quietly accept those. That’s what i did to keep my healthcare job. I was advised to do it by a local advocacy group for medical freedom.
ETA i didn’t claim to be a member of any specific religion. I explained that a close family member died after getting the shot (true), i leaned on my faith afterward and prayed (true), and i feel led to not receive the vaccine at this time.

La Supreme Court is not going to rule on this it's in federal court
A Louisiana federal court has granted 14 states’ bid for a preliminary injunction that not only halts a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rule requiring COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers in their own states but across the entire nation.
In the memorandum ruling issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Terry A. Doughty wrote that the plaintiff states had clearly proven CMS’ mandate would lead to irreparable injury against each state.
The judge wrote that the plaintiffs’ arguments that CMS exceeded its authority with the rule and did not have good cause to forego the required notice and comment period will likely find success in the case’s eventual ruling. The states are similarly likely to find success arguing that the mandate was both contrary to law and arbitrary and capricious, the judge wrote, but will likely be hit and miss around other alleged constitutional violations.
