Ochsner Fires 280 Unvaxxed Workers

Per nola.com, Ochsner has fired 280 employees that refused to be vaccinated. Ochsner system workers in Shreveport/Monroe areas are exempted due to stay by Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal. Ochsner's vax mandate is self-imposed.
Ochsner's actions raise lots of questions, some of which are:
1. Are the members of the Ochsner board un-American fascists taking away a fellow-citizen's right to make their own health care decisions? My body, my choice.
2. Are the members of the Ochsner board stupid? Can they think for themselves or are they cowardly lemmings? Why are they so rigid and not showing flexibility in their decision making based upon the evidence as it develops. Clinging to initial decisions made before building evidence revealed the vax, except for those with serious co-morbidities, can be more dangerous than good is unscientific. The vaccine does not keep you from getting Covid, it doesn't keep you from transmitting Covid, and it doesn't keep you from getting a serious/hospitalizing case of Covid. And even Fauci admits it does nothing against Omicron.
3. Why would the Ochsner board do this now when the legality of such mandates is undecided? Kind of harsh when the Second Circuit has said the mandate may not be legal and the La. Supreme Court has yet to weigh in. Besides the U.S. Fifth Circuit enjoining the OSHA vax mandate, a federal district court judge in Florida recently enjoined a similar Florida health care system's private employee vax mandate for the reasons raised in questions 1 & 2 above.
4. Why would I want to receive healthcare from providers that are so rigid in their thinking and care so little for the health of the community they serve--they have to have reduced the effectiveness of their services by firing part of their workforce. Why else were they employed in the first place?
5. Is Ochsner doing this for dollars? If so, who is paying them for enforcing the party line? And where does the money go?
6. I haven't read the 2nd Circuit's decision, but is there some way to find Ochsner in contempt of Court for firing workers in other parts of the State, in the face of the injunction?
There are many more questions, but only so many hours in the day.

Although some people in healthcare are good thinkers. Many aren't. They cannot think critically. When people who can't actually think make decisions, they're often mindless. This is an instance of such mindless actions.

Ochsner is a bunch of unAmerican fricktards. I would not set foot in that piece of shite facility on ONeal if I had to...I hooe this backfires on them bigly. No reason for this.

The whole mandate IMO is a crock of shite BUT if a company or state want to impose them ON THEIR OWN I'm fine with it.....yay US Constitution
These questions are legit tho

The Libertarian in me agrees. However, we don't have that system right now where business can simply decide who they will and will not discriminate against. In addition, what we're seeing right now is not some organic business decision made solely by the business. Each and every one of these is being spurred on by government pressure at the very least.
By definition, this is what Fascism looks like. It's not when some mean guy you disagree with does things which hurt your feelings.

Biden's admin so far has been the very definition of fascism.

There is a reason why Ochsner is often referred to as the evil empire around here.

CEO is Warner Thomas. Went to school At Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in accounting. Got a MBA from Boston University in health care. He is a NE Yankee and probably woke as hell.
Board Members are a bunch of Ochsner Doctors for the most part.
I am guessing this decision primarily lies on the shoulders of Herr Warner Thomas.

I don't disagree but we either follow the Constitution or we don't. Discrimination doesn't belong in the conversation.
Why is Ochsner really initiating a mandate? Who knows
The mandate, from the Fed level, is about control, not discrimination.

Unless you are a coward, each board member has a vote.

The board of directors for the hospital, my wife works at, (she's too old for any of you who want pictures), so anyway the BOD for this hospital is not very diverse.
One doctor, and the rest are bankers.
For what that is worth.

Well the timing makes sense. Ochsner fires 280 employees right before JBE's next press conference where he'll bitch about the new variant. Now, he gets to talk about bed shortages; even though those numbers are hovering around 200 patients in the entire State

Having control over people (Fed mandate) and discriminating are not the same no matter how many times you say it.

Hope they sabotaged as much as they could before they left.
