So are you on record as favoring banning all firearms for citizens?

Actual facts and history disagree with his family.
The guy invented it for ArmaLite for the military. Not sure why you'd dispute this, it's pretty clear.

More cars = more car deaths

more surgeries = more surgery deaths
And yet we can take actions to lower the number of deaths from cars, pools, and surgical complications.
Why can't we do the same for guns?

Of course not, that's even stupider than Clames owning himself by forgetting Dickey had an op-ed asking that the amendment bearing his name be repealed to allow the CDC to research gun violence again.

The Armalite rifle was indeed invented for military use.
The Colt AR-15 variant soon after developed for civilian use and did not contain select fire options present in the Armalite rifle.

So as usual, you just want to link things I've already read. You don't want to discuss it, because you know exactly what happens when you do.
You lose. Again.
Let me know if you change your mind, though.

Ban the Internet! Ban navigation! Ban duct tape!

When you see a high-speed car chase on tv, do you think about new laws to reduce cars top end speeds? Especially red cars?

He invented what became the M-16. The AR-15 was developed by Colt specifically for the civilian and law enforcement communities.
They are not the same rifle. Do you know why?

We did in 1934.

I'm happy to discuss it, but you've shown time and again that you're not interested in that.

I'm glad we can agree that the AR-15 was developed for military, not civilian, use.

But that's not the rifle that you want banned.

Do we have an epidemic of deaths due to high speed chases from cars (red cars?) in this country? Moreso than other comparable countries? And do we have one political party dead-set against doing anything that may reduce the number of lives lost in said epidemic?
No? Then, nope.

It is. Once Colt bought the rights to it from Armalite, it shared the same lineage.

The weapon you're referencing became the M16, and then M4.
The AR-15 was specifically developed for civilian use. But of course you ignored my post that stated such.
The M16/M4 is not the same weapon as the AR-15.
Again, do you know why?

No it's not, the Colt AR-15 is not select fire.
It shares the same lineage, but it is absolutely not an assault rifle.
The traditional definition of an Assault rifle was the capability to perform automatic fire. It wasn't until recently that they arbitrarily decided to rebrand a semi-automatic rifle with the same appearance as an Assault Rifle.
Functionally the civilian AR-15 is no different than any other magazine fed rifle or pistol.

And in 1964, the AR-15.
Not sure why you're so confused here, they even kept the AR in the name to help you out...

You're being willfully ignorant on this point.
What was designed for military use had a select fire feature.
What was designed for civilian use does not have this capability.
