Replying like you do is exactly what she wants. You notice she didn't respond to any of my posts?

There's a reason for that.

Why is the firearm homicide rate not correlated at all to the firearm ownership rate

First, because guns per 100 population isn't the same as gun owners per 100 population.

Second, because other factors like SES and civil wars play into violence rates on a nation by nation basis - that's why it's good to use economic comparators like OECD countries when benchmarking the US.

Sadly, they weren't.

And the FBI and local police department failed to enforce them.

There was nothing to enforce - Florida doesn't have GVROs or Red Flag laws. As we've seen just today on this board, even those terrify some Republicans.

so you want us to achieve similar gun death rates to countries that basically ban guns?

No, I want us to achieve similar gun death rates to our peer countries. Some of them 'basically ban guns', some of them do not.

I don't.

Of course they were. What he did is already illegal.

You damn well know that there is no comparison between those two situations

Between the Parkland shooter and the guy in Washington?! How blind are you if you don't see a similar pattern?

Outdoing yourself today, champ.

The Colt AR-15 isn't the weapon developed by ArmaLite for the military.

How is the AR-15 different from the Mini-14? Exact details please.

It's primary purpose and reason for construction was the transport of troops and supplies for national defense. The fact we get to use it as a quick way between cities is the nice side effect.

Please address these three points first before commenting on my later posts. Unless you freely admit to cherry picking.

Right, and this is because you don't understand the topic.

So that’s what prevented the SO from arresting a kid in 39-ish violent contacts with law enforcement.

It wasn't 39-ish violent contacts, it was 39 contacts with his address, none of which rose to the level of an arrest and none of which allowed for his guns to be removed from the household per Florida law.

Hell, they didn't even Baker Act him.

And admits there is no functional difference between guns he (admits to) wanting to ban vs just about every other “sporting” rifle in the country.

Why would I admit a falsehood you made up?

There's clearly a difference, as identified by the largest gun sellers in the nation. Are you saying they don't know their product?!

What a stupid thing to say, even for you.

What is the difference between an AR-15 and a Mini-14.

With details please.

I posted a thorough list of exactly what I want. Only one of you has even bothered to read it - the rest of you create straw men and fail to knock them down, because you're terrified some federal officer is going to storm your house the minute you agree to banning bump stocks.

It's sad.

How can you do this when you can't even articulate the difference between an AR-15 and a Mini-14?

PRETTY RELEVANT when we're discussing gun deaths and how to reduce them, and you're talking about knives.

quote:

ou have no idea what would happen if a particular gun were banned. maybe knife attacks go up.

We don't see that happening.

Wrong. Stop being wrong.

Some just move past it because of the source.

Wrong. He threatened to shoot up the school. They should have at least picked him up and could have charged him with terrorism.
