Shocker.
Years ago he said never in a million years, but that was because the votes weren't there for it, not because he was against it.
Acceptable now

Single payer was always the end goal.

frick Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP.

That was always the plan. Create something so shitty it would collapse so that you can call for single payer as the only thing that will work.
Posted on 9/8/17 at 10:22 pm to TheHarahanian
That was literally the entire point behind Obamacare. Eventually transitioning over to single payer.

The Big Donors of both major political parties are in favor of US Government provided national healthcare.
That's why we can be sure that the Establishment GOP would also support it. They cannot be so bold as to openly call for its implementation. They try to maintain this Masquerade that they are different than the Democrats.
But the truth is that most US corporations would love to off-load their health care burden from themselves to the US taxpayers.

Isn't this the same guy who Maria Bartiromo slammed on her show? If it is, that guy came off as a bumbling idiot.

It's going to be awesome watching family & friends die because the government doesn't want to spend the money. I'll be sure to thank the useful idiots for this.

Everyone on Fox has had this guy on. Maria, Martha McCallum, and Tucker have done the best at exposing him for the sham he is.
Ezekiel Emmanuel is his name.

Anyone for single payer healthcare needs to spend some time in a VA hospital/clinic etc.
I would invite any of you single payer supporters to spend a day with me while I navigate a single appointment at the VA.

If only the Republican party could gain control of all three branches of government.
Then they could unveil that plan they have been talking about for 7 years that will reduce the government's role in healthcare, bring down everyone's rates, cover more people, drastically reduce costs, and make everyone better off.
Then the Democrats would be screwed! They wouldn't have a leg to stand on advocating single payer since the Republicans would decapitate the shite out of the Democrats argument by showing they have the superior answer and the public would demand to have it!

Once entitlements are given, it's hard to take them away. You guys throw around rhetoric like people will be dying in the streets immediately upon the repeal.
The Republican Senate has been weak on this issue, but it doesn't change the fact that the ACA is failing hard. Take digs at the Republicans. They deserve it. But Democrats have a bigger hand in it by launching it. Quit defending it because it is failing. Come up with a real solution. Not you, but our lawmakers. All of them.

Anyone paying attention understands that both sides of the aisle are bought and paid for by the healthcare conglomerates and lobbyists.
This insurance angle/fight is one of the biggest hood winks these entrenched politicians have ever pulled on the American public.
If they were really serious about the issue they should start with regulating the DME and pharma industries.
When plastic bedpans cost $100 and up you know there is an issue.
Wish folks would wake up but it will never happen. They prey on those in a time of great personal need and our politicians are complicit.
It's disgraceful. These politicians are arguing over who should pay for the $100 plastic bed pan instead of asking why in the frick does it cost $100 to begin with. The lemmings buy in..hook line and sinker.
Every one of you partisan hacks, on either side of this health care debate, are literally propagating the status quo.

It has an inevitable feel to it.
My only hope is that it not happen without at least trading something in return.
If we could do single payer in exchange for the FairTax, I think I could live with it.

No. Single payer would be forever, and the thing you "got" would last a few years.

a key component of the FairTax is repeal of the 16th Amendment, that is a really big deal
once undone, that would be extremely difficult to put back

Sanders' own state of Vermont learned when it scrapped its single-payer plan after the finances collapsed.
The feds should not be funding aka underwriting health insurance. Changes and reform will be mired in endless discussion, studies and distractions by politicians who have separate health care benefits.
