Obama: "I don't have to run for office anymore, so I can just let it rip"

And rip he did, after days of Republicans beating him up for not doing anything on the border but refusing to pass the money to pay for what he wants to do on the border. For months, Democratic polling has shown that when Obama says “Congress,” people hear “Republicans.” Thursday, he made that explicit, saying that while Democrats in Congress aren’t perfect, he believed Americans knew it was Republicans who weren’t on their side. “The best thing you can say about” the House GOP, Obama said, is that, so far this year, “they haven’t shut down the government. … But it’s only July.” And then he launched into an extended mocking of them for the lawsuit House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is threatening to bring against him for using executive action. He also offered stats that show George W. Bush signed many more executive orders and pulled in a quote from Mark Wahlberg’s character in Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.” “I’m the guy doing my job,” Obama said, getting the line almost right. “You must be the other guy.” “Think about that,” he told the crowd. “You’re going to use taxpayer money to sue me for doing my job while you don’t do your job.”

his incompetence has sorta boxed him in a corner where this is the only strategy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Obama is a teenage girl.
Obama is a teenage girl.

Actually almost all Presidents back until FDR used more. Obama is part of a trend of less and less executive orders.
(those are facts - thus they will more firmly convince Republicans there is a conspiracy afoot)

What does the number have to do with anything?
i am NOT one who thinks he HAS done some impeachable, horrible EO. I'd have to see the actual EO(s) in question. I am NOT on this particular bandwagon.
But, the NUMBER is irrelevant. If President A has 1500 EOs and all are legal, within "bounds" that does NOT ameliorate President B if he issues only 10 EOs and they are illegal, overreaching.

It isn't the number of Executive Orders it's the fact that Obama has used some of them to change laws or go around laws.
IF he uses them for what they are intended, and that is enforcing laws on the books and directing agencies under the control of the Executive Branch, then that's fine.

If Obama was a republican would you continue to make excuses for his incompetence?

An EO to create a committee or to proclaim a Federal holiday is well within the bounds of EOs. EOs which are substantially legislative in nature are not (I.e., an EO which says Frick the laws on the books, I do what I want) isn't within the bounds of an EO.
