Why did you guys devolve to Bush earlier in the thread instead of Obama?

A lot of the relevant action involved came under Bush when Obama would never have been able to even get a briefing on it.

Your own work disproved that this information would make it to any President, however. I thank you for that.

Disproved? I showed the fbi was on to him. We don’t know if it ever did get briefed. That’s why I posted the information to link that he was known beyond his work place.

Again why does this have to be about some win and not have a discussion?

Obama wasn't even the President, for starters

What a dumbass. And yes, this is trying to defend Obama. Stop stacking lies.

It’s a dumb argument as if Hassan was ever briefed to the president as a threat Obama certainly would’ve been the president.

That narcissist posted graphics in the thread claiming he was right like some child when he was actually fricking dead wrong.

What a total jackass.

Prior to the November 2009 Fort Hood shooting, U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies intercepted approximately 18 to 20 emails exchanged between Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan and radical American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

Key Details of the Correspondence

• Number of Messages: Hasan sent around 10 to 20 emails to Awlaki, while Awlaki replied at least twice.
• Content: Early emails primarily consisted of questions regarding Islam, the moral implications of Muslim soldiers serving in the U.S. military, and post-traumatic stress research. However, later messages—such as one where Hasan asked Awlaki to keep him in his "Rolodex" and felt free to call him collect—grew increasingly radical, with some expressing support for suicide bombings and the killing of civilians.
• Interception and Task Forces: The emails were picked up by electronic surveillance and reviewed by Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) cells in San Diego and Washington, D.C..

Investigation and Aftermath

• Initial Assessment: The FBI and intelligence analysts concluded at the time that the correspondence was related to Hasan’s authorized research or academic inquiries at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and posed no active threat or plot. Consequently, no action was taken to warn the U.S. Department of Defense or stop his deployment.
• Post-Attack Reviews: Subsequent bipartisan Senate investigations, independent reviews (including one led by former FBI Director William Webster), and National Counterterrorism Center evaluations found that the FBI and military failed to properly share or investigate the warning signs due to miscommunication between field offices and institutional reluctance.
• Court-Martial: During Hasan's 2013 court-martial, a military judge initially blocked the introduction of specific email correspondence with Awlaki before Hasan pleaded/admitted to the charges.
"Institutional reluctance." Is the vanilla version of Obamas Islamophobia.

Islamophobia is no longer in every day vernacular- thanks Trump.... If GWBush's dumbass popped in this thread it is because he called them the religion of peace.

Obama's DOJ and FBI was very astute to Islamophobia, and institutional reluctance to call out terrorists...ask Brennan.

Thanks Angelle. Is there any evidence that Obama saw the emails?

How did "Obama have them?"

Yeah huh.

independent fact unrelated . . .

IF, some of Hasan's emails were written while Obama was president (which DeBoar's post asserts), THEN the dates are central to Obama's culpability and directly refute your claim that "Obama wasn't even the President, for starters."

SO, for starters, let's type out and post on PT the following:

"I was mistaken. Obama WAS president during the time frame when Hasan emailed al-Awlaki."

Dont give SFP ideas that Obama was not aware. If you read the govt agencies that tried to warn. There is no way Obama's over 100 nat sec advisors didnt know and inform him.

We all know he was read into intel and it was not presented as innocuous PTSD research.

Nefarious intent afterwards is proven in labeling it workplace violence.

First, that was Powerman's claim that I adopted and maybe shouldn't have

Second, it does nothing for my actual argument.

But, more importantly, it does nothing to "Defend" Obama.

There is literally nothing to suggest Obama would or should have been aware. The evidence strongly points to the opposite conclusion.

Why would they know about an investigation that was already effectively dismissed by the FBI? Why would anyone above maybe the supervisor know about this?

Court docs make it known that after the attack it was clearly known to be intentional terrorism. Hasan admitted it all immediately. Why did the Obama administration label it "workplace violence" when Hasan admitted it was terror in the name of Allah?

Yeah I don't want the right associated with people looking like retards, which OP does.

It's not complicated.

I don't know. Seems like that was something the first Trump Administration could have looked into.

Is there any evidence that "Obama had Hasan's emails" before the terrorist act and let it happen?

You jumped in here pretty quickly, assuming I was speaking about you, Counselor.

And this would be more believable if you actually tried DEFENDING the right on occasion...
