NYTimes: US Navy Is Getting Oil Through the Strait of Hormuz

It feels like it's not very often that the NY Times says something positive about an operation taking place under the direction of President Trump. But today they did just that with a story that notes an ongoing operation to help ships full of oil clear the Strait of Hormuz which is working, though obviously the total number of ships is still down compared to the situation prior to the war.
Only a few oil tankers braved Iran’s attacks to go through the Strait of Hormuz for much of the war, leading to a drastic reduction in how much crude reached world markets.
But since May, the U.S. military has played a crucial role in getting millions of barrels of oil through the strait, helping to keep oil prices from rising further.
The operation stealthily shepherds tankers through the southern part of the strait on routes close to Oman...
Before the war, about 15 million barrels of crude oil a day went through the Strait of Hormuz. In July, tankers using U.S. protected routes transported around five million barrels of oil daily out of the Persian Gulf, according to analysts.
“It’s one of the surprising successes,” said Michelle Wiese Bockmann, a shipping analyst at Windward, a maritime analysis firm. “They have been extraordinarily effective in keeping that southern corridor operating, despite the attacks.”

You don't say?! Why even throw that barb in there?

Because the writer felt at least a smidge of guilt for prostituting themselves out for what was otherwise a pure propaganda piece.

Yeah basically. The US Navy is not getting enough through the Strait to matter or Iran would have all the reason in the world to earnestly negotiate.

Lol @ hamas bros
Is living in your "my political party can do no wrong" mind palace leading to lower prices for you? If so, I need to learn your ways.

This is one of those things where if any traffic gets through, Trump claims the win that he controls it. But, these were numbers as of like a week ago.
And, I just saw this.
LINK
But, the obvious point is even if we getting back to like 50% of pre-war levels of movement, it's a massive loss.
And, I just saw this.

Shipping through Hormuz has been running at roughly 17 percent of its pre-conflict average, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center — the waterway is, in the assessment of maritime-intelligence trackers, largely blocked, with no genuinely safe route through it. There have been dozens of reports of vessels damaged in and around the strait since the war opened on February 28, including eight attacks on ships this month alone, some linked to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As recently as August 19, three China-linked supertankers turned back mid-transit. This is not the traffic profile of an American-controlled open seaway. It is the profile of a contested, mostly shut chokepoint.

Who is my political party? And what do you mean can do no wrong?
I dont cry about things I cant control like lower prices
But what does any of that have to do with Iran clearly not owning the Strait like you hamas bros claim

And CNN says Iran doesn't entirely control the straight.
CNN
So, when NYT and CNN are both running stories that ship are getting through, is it a setup for another attack?
Could they possibly coordinate that closely with each other when the US middle class is the real target in this war?

Iran hasn't given up on stopping this traffic and routinely fires missiles at ships transiting close to Oman. At least 15 ships have been hit despite the U.S. Navy's protection and three crew members have been killed and several more injured in the attacks. Because of the inherent risk, not all of the shipping companies are willing to risk it, even with U.S. protection.
Does that sound like Iran controls the strait to you? I don't think so. Stay calm, Patriots, this is how we win!

Yeah, the NYT is all about promoting the Repuublicans.
There are things you can push back on, but this doesn't seem one where I
would be "cackling", given it is the NYT. But hey, Libs on this board gonna Lib. You want communism, we get it.

Good lord. Another one. Can you and Penrod please read the OP’s source before spouting off that I’m wrong about a comment?

It seems that people, particularly those against the conflict, have forgotten that this was never about the Strait. Yet, that is all they talk about.
The goal was to stop Iran from building more nukes and missiles. Why is this never discussed? Why is it so hard for so many people to recognize any positive news?
If you are discussing the effects of the war, it seems logical to at least mention the whole reason it began in the first place. But many are just ignoring this and only focusing on the number of ships through the Strait, which aren't even destined for our country.
These people will say that Iran is having their weapons restocked by other countries, so they know that this part has been successful. So, why is the only focus on oil through the Strait?
Is this like when the MSM refuses to acknowledge anything good Trump has done? Because it really seems like it.
The people who do nothing but complain while refusing to acknowledge any positive news are as useful as the media. They can't be taken seriously due to their bias and emotional reactions.
The worst part is that they know this behavior helps democrats. Some are even giddy at the prospect of democrats taking over congress despite claiming to be conservatives. They just can't help themselves.
Is complaining about everything while ignoring everything good really that attractive? Is that dopamine hit really worth it? I sincerely cannot understand this mentality.
