As Republicans in several states race to redraw congressional maps to secure more seats for GOP candidates, a shocking new poll has suggested the party might want to proceed with caution.
According to a New York Times/Siena poll out Monday, Republicans are in a serious hole on the generic congressional ballot. Respondents were asked, “If the 2026 general election for Congress were held today, which party’s candidate would you be more likely to vote for in your district?” And 50 percent said they would back the Democratic candidate, while just 39 percent said they would pick the Republican.
That 11-point spread is way up from the 5-point margin the same poll showed in January. It is also a larger split than most other recent polls have shown — according to RealClearPolitics, which tracks all major polls.

In a recent appearance on Fox News, Republican strategist Karl Rove warned that redistricting may not play out the way Republicans would want. “You could in essence take … like here in Texas, take big cities, which are typically Democrat, and split them up among several sort of suburban and rural Republicans and thereby reduce their margin and make [House Republicans] more vulnerable in an election year,” Rove said (via The Hill).

Now we know where Tate Reeves and Kemp got their establishment talking points.
Indiana just proved this poll to be complete bullshite.
So did Louisiana in some regard by ousting incumbent Cassidy.

NYT
All you need to know. This left-wing rag and the people who run it are coming apart at the seams because the Democrats are losing the political Civil War.

The NYT is outright propaganda at this point.

It's unfortunate that some states aren't taking full advantage of redistricting (I'm guessing some crooked politicians have been paid off) but I still don't think the Republicans lose anything in midterms.
What else would anyone expect from ANY of the MSM "polls"???
The same ones that guaranteed Trump would lose the election....
Come on man....
I'll believe it when i see it!

The old trick of leading the sheep with extremely false polling a few months before an election has begun.
How many on this board have been polled?

The RNC should use the Indiana results against this and head off establishment stooges like Rove.
Now the GOPe has their excuse to throw the midterms. It’s not like they weren’t trying to lose it in the first place though.

Same old from MSM - try to discourage GOP voters and try to encourage and rally DemProg voters.
Same old from Establishment GOP critter Karl Rove: Cautioning GOP and advising to play not to lose vs. playing to win (because that’s always worked so well).
All that said however…., if American voters were ever actually stupid enough to hand power back to the radical Left, then we (as a country) deserve every single thing headed our way….and it won’t be pretty.
Those who don’t learn from history….
I guess we’ll all be seeing if America has learned anything in these coming months and years.

Propaganda to try to get the (R)s to slow down. It will probably work, when the (R)s should be sweeping legs and slitting throats.

These generic nationwide polls are pretty meaningless. The congressional elections are hundreds of smaller, individual races, most of which are already decided before election day. Democrats running up the score in blue districts doesnt really have an impact on the toss-ups. This kind of polling should be limited to battleground races to really be meaningful. You dont have to win the overall national vote to win the house and/or senate.

Good, it will inspire Republicans and Independents to get to the polls.
