Don't touch their beloved Beto!

Leftists on social media lost their minds Monday after The New York Times released an exposé, detailing Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) Democratic challenger, Beto O'Rourke's, early career in real estate development, and revealing for the first time this campaign that O'Rourke isn't a blue collar hero but rather the son-in-law of a billionaire.

The NYT reports that O'Rourke's father-in-law proposed gentrifying a neighborhood in El Paso by force, bulldozing public housing to make way for restaurants, a shopping district, and an art walk. Beto, the Times claims, served as the "pretty face" for the plan while also serving in city government, and often tangled with low-income El Paso residents protesting the plan.

I love that Dems are pumping money into this election because they'll lose all of it with nothing to show.

someone's trying to get their money back from O'dork. JYT will tank him at the last minute and hell be forced to 1. Piss donors off by keeping the cash or 2. Give it back or redirect in a way they prefer.

Cruz has a good commercial where the low income residents chewed him out at a city council meeting.

From the comment section:

They waited until they were dead certain Beto could not win, then they published.

Probably right.

Nice they waited until he had enough campaign cash to run the story. Sure they would have held it for a Republican challenger also.

What a load of crap.

That story has been out for weeks. Cruz even has a commercial where citizens are alleged to have complained about the use of eminent domain to build that project.

This is a ploy that the copycat news outlets use to make you think they are bringing you a hot story.

It hurts the GOP as well that the Dems are spending money in Texas. That means they have to spend money as well.

A story came out last week about O'Rourke not sharing his campaign chest with other needy candidates. He has WAY more money than other guys who actually have a shot at winning, yet he won't share.

Somebody greenlit this little hit piece to take him down a few notches

What's your point? It keeps it fresh in the news cycle, which is their goal.

Sad thing is that there are probably 35 states where he would be a shoo-in. Probably kicking himself for not packing the carpetbags and heading to Arizona or Nevada.
