personally, if I need to fire a gun I want people to hear so that help comes my way, that anyone else in my house or wherever gets spooked and hauls arse out of there, etc.
if I ever had to fire a gun, I want people to hear it. I had f-18s taking off 8 feet over my head for months and my hearing is ok.

Yeah, same.
I mean, make no mistake, if I had endless funds I'd definitely own several suppressors (as of now I just have friends with stamps) and other class III toys, but it's not like I'd have them at bedside.

Here's what I want, and I think it's a reasonable request: 50 separate states, with their own laws, that band together for protecting the national border.

I support owning silencers but nothing she said was inherently false.
And some good silencers really do make the gun very quiet. I've shot both a .308 rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun that were so quiet you basically just heard the action of the gun itself and a slight pop equivalent to a .22 rifle. I could actually here the .308 round hit the tree behind the paper target
