You’re confusing claiming to be a lawyer with practicing law. The state bar doesn’t have jurisdiction over non-lawyers, doofus. And the criminal code only covers the unlicensed practice of law.

Still doesn’t apply to me saying I’m an engineer on the internet.
Now if I go buy a billboard and engage in commercial speech in carrying forward this lie then maybe I’m treading close to the statute.
