Dems are like Dammit
Who showed the GOP that chapter in our playbook?
The Republicans specifically told the Dems that there would be no votes because of 9/11. Then they voted to override the Governors veto anyway.
Repubs are always B.S.-ing about how rule of law they are. Then they lie their asses off.

these are the kinds of modern rules of politics set out by leftists.
If you don't adopt them, you perish.
The aggressor sets the rules.

To override the governor's veto, the Republicans needed to secure a three-fifths majority vote among those present. Local news outlets reported that Republicans in the state had been trying for months to override Cooper's veto and seized an opportunity on a morning typically set aside to honor the 2,977 people killed in the 9/11 attacks 18 years ago.
Kinda Trashy but
Democrats threw out the rules for civility so all is fair in love, war, and politics now. Bloody brilliant move by the NC GOP.

Why hasn’t North Carolina’s budget passed yet?
The reason for the months-long budget standoff has been Medicaid expansion.
The Democratic governor and other Democrats want it. Republican leaders, particularly in the Senate, said repeatedly they do not. Cooper said he wanted Medicaid expansion as part of budget negotiations, and it was the main reason for his veto.
Cooper produced a counteroffer to the budget, but instead the House put the budget veto override on the calendar every day, but didn’t call for a vote until Wednesday. Speaker Tim Moore, a Republican, repeatedly told the press and public he would call the vote when he thought he had enough votes for an override.
Instead, mini budget bills passed recently as a way to move less controversial aspects of the budget forward, like state employees raises. Those raises are the same as the ones in the budget.

Did Republicans break any rules?
No. The budget override was on the calendar for Wednesday’s morning session.
House Speaker Moore controls the votes. On the floor before the vote, Moore asked the clerk if any announcement or rule would prevent them from voting.
“I confirmed that there was never any notice that went out saying there would not be recorded votes,” Moore said.
Democrats say many of their members missed the morning session because they were told verbally that there would be no vote on the budget.
House Minority Leader Darren Jackson said Rep. David Lewis, a Republican who presided as House speaker on Tuesday, told him there would be no vote. Lewis disputes that.
Where were Democrats?
Some headlines suggested that Democrats were at events commemorating the 9/11 attacks — the vote was taken at roughly the same time as the national moment of silence. But The News & Observer has confirmed only two Democrats attended 9/11 events.
One was Cooper, who spoke at the North Carolina National Guard’s Sept. 11 commemoration in Raleigh.
The other was Rep. Garland Pierce, a Scotland County Democrat, who says he attended an event in Raeford.

Looks like most of the dims were too lazy to show up to either the vote or the 9/11 events.

the dems wanted more medicaid and state employee payraises.
State employees don't need pay raises; but we can lower the TAXES and payments for bloated budget BS art museums---that no one goes to but the people that don't wear deodorant or shave their female arm pits and shop at Fresh Market because it's fresher.

And they are just as shortsighted as the OP and everyone who thinks this was a good idea. The only thing this will accomplish is losing the state in the exact manner that the GOP lost Virginia.

The OP needs changed. See my last post. The Gov is never there for these votes, and one dem may have been at a 911 ceremony and the vote was officially on the schedule. It was done legally and I am sure a majority of NC thanks the R's.

That is probably true. Unfortunately that won’t matter, because facts don’t matter.
Their decision to hold it on 9/11 is the only thing that anyone will remember or talk about, and they lose that battle from a PR perspective.

bullshite. The Repubs put the veto override on the agenda for EVERY day of the legislative session at the beginning of the session.
They then told Dems that there wouldn't be any votes taken until after lunch because of 9/11, and then took the vote in the morning.
This is the same Repub legislature that gerrymandered the NC legislative districts, which was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Also, after Democratic governor Cooper was elected, the Republican-controlled state legislature called an emergency session under the guise of disaster relief only to pass a series of bills that pulled Cooper’s ability to make key cabinet appointments without their approval, drastically cut the size of Cooper’s administration, and changed the Board of Elections so that Republicans would control it in election years.
Authoritarian Syndrome conservative voters just mouth off about the rule of law - and then do the opposite.

Ahhh no. No battle was lost, this I can tell you. Fight fire with fire. Ain't nobody but the prog leftists care. They are the ones with the State jobs at the DMV and sitting on their asses all day at the treasury building. The dems want to fluff medicaid because they lost the black vote because they went to work.
