Trump is showing that Republicans in Washington don’t really stand on principles like “no new wars”, “no boots on the ground”, “no more wasting money around the world”.
The criticism for supporting Ukraine was hollow. And if MAGA doesn’t care now, then they won’t care in next war either.
The costs are going to be what the Democrats exploit in the midterms.

Why do PJs and Marines and Rangers and pretty much everyone else try for it? Why have Delta or ST6 never been used to recover a downed pilot? Those units would probably used if the pilots were captured. But they’re not gonna go pick up some guy just chilling in the desert trying to hide from bad guys.

I agree with the regional threat scenario. Maybe possible but not that probable, they could make overtures/maneuvers toward Taiwan. I know many see them as the boogeyman but they seem very risk averse in overtly provocative moves.
They are sneaky as frick but their strategy doesn’t seem like a brute force one. Iran is a hot mess and who the hell are they gonna trust now especially since that avenue is being un-alived on the regular. JMO

Crazy seeing all you retards supporting another endless Middle Eastern War. Coming up with the same excuses and everything too. This one has the risk of being far worse and consequential than the last two though. Like I said, this better not turn into a full blown war. Chill out this is not Iraq. We know Iran has WMD. This is not going to war under false pretenses. This is just the SF guys going in and taking possession of all that dangerous material or destroying it. We would not be surging troops in to invade and occupy.

I wouldn’t be shocked if SF isn’t on the ground now mapping out and finding targets to hit. I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that we have SF units on the ground training some of the local population to fight when the time comes. Boots on the ground would not be sending in a group of regular marines or Army to fight and take hold of territory. It would be mission driven. I think taking and holding a nuclear facility would probably fall to Army Rangers. They are usually responsible for taking and holding airfields and bridges and things like that if my memory serves me correctly. Training a population to fight would usually go to Green Berets I think. It’s been a while since I got into all of that. My point is they will have specific missions. They will not be taking and holding territory to occupy.

If Iran removed any Nuclear material before Midnight Hammer and we didn’t find out until 2,3, 4 months ago then it wouldn’t have been destroyed. We do not have all the intel. The military and government does. That facility may have looked destroyed from a satellite photo. On the ground though it may be possible to regain access to the site. It’s hard to get an accurate picture of what the ground truth is in a place like Iran.

That is true too. If the movie Zero Dark Thirty is an accurate telling then we didn’t really know for certain that it was Bin Laden living in that compound in Pakistan. Based on the intelligence there is a blank percent probability that this is Bin Laden. Hell those guys just guessed and guessed right. Same thing in this situation. We were basing the site as destroyed based on the intelligence we had. Without boots on the ground though looking at the site then we really do not know. It’s just a guess based on all available information.
