Champlain, New York is literally in the middle of nowhere. Champlain has a population of about 1,100 people. Plattsburgh is 20mi away, and has a population <20K. Which begs the question . . . What the hell was the Reuters photographer who "captured the scene" doing there in the first place?

great point - this thing smells like something that was staged...

This sounds like a a bs story

it certainly looks like it was staged, which is weird - I mean, Reuters does not scream "fake news"

Because this was staged or fabricated, and they used an old photo.

Dammit. And I can't even visit Canada because I had a DUI in 1996.

A reuters photographer just happened to be there in time to snap photos of these poor little children being handed off in the snow to the RCMP?

Staged as frick. Just like that dead boy on the Med shore last year.

Back when Hollywood was going to pack its bags & move to Canada, a Canadian customs official was quoted as saying that there was a job glut there then, & no one would be allowed to just run across the border & stay indefinitely. Guess the lack of jobs is what kept Hollywood in Calif.?

Champlain is tiny. It doesn't have taxi service. It also doesn't have Reuters photographers.

I wonder where they taxied from. I'm guessing they stiffed the driver, as well.
