Add Vindman and his decision to defy a sitting President, and, I am concerned about our military leadership.

Thanks Obama.

I'm going to be honest and say that Trump made some really bad hires with his first cabinet. Trump himself has said that he regrets a lot of personnel decisions as well.

For example these people were really bad fits and flooded the administration with people that were disloyal to the President. A lot of duds here.

Reince Preibus as Chief of Staff

Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State

Tom Price as HHS Secretary

David Shulkin as VA Secretary

Jim Mattis as SecDef

Jeff Sessions as AG.

And allowing Jim Comey to stay on as FBI Director.

Nikki has stated that she does not want the VP nomination and will support and campaign for the Trump-Pence ticket in 2020.

Unlike a lot of Never Trumpers, She's a loyal soldier to the GOP that's not burning any bridges with the leader of the GOP, Donald Trump.

And she has to if she wants to best position herself to win the GOP nomination for President in 2024.

Nikki Haley is not and will not be my first choice in a presidential primary.

I will be voting for a rock ribbed Conservative like Ron DeSantis or Ted Cruz as those are two guys that are close enough to Trump ideologically and can win a general election.

But unlike some on this board, I don't see Nikki Haley as the devil and she would be far more preferential to whatever socialist monster loon the democrats put up.

The GOPe side of the deep state maybe.

DC is still 90% democrat and they hate any republican as President. Period.

It’s difficult to find a person to be part of your cabinet in DC because most of them are swamp creatures and getting rich. They want the status quo. They want the POTUS to leave things alone. They’ve got it like they like it and DJT is trying to bust the corruption up.

So?

Her interests are aligned with the interests of the party as well. And there's nothing wrong with being loyal to the party.

Some history for you...

Reagan and Bush 41 were loyal as hell to Goldwater and campaigned for him even when it was obvious that he was going to get crushed in a blowout in 1964. Republicans who were not, saw little to no success at all in later decades.

And check out the story of Larry Hogan's dad, the republican who supported Nixon's impeachment and voted for all three articles of impeachment leveled at Nixon, and how he paid a huge political price for it.

‘A very bad blow’: The GOP lawmaker who turned on Nixon and paid a price for it

quote:

In 1974, there were many beginnings-of-the-end for Nixon, but Hogan’s decision was an important one. He had frequently sided with Nixon on issues before the committee. And Nixon was counting on him as a “no” vote.

It was yet another disaster for Nixon, one he recounted decades later in his memoirs.

“The fact was that he had dealt us a very bad blow,” he wrote.

Hogan, whose district was primarily Prince George’s County, was immediately accused of playing politics. Nixon’s staff and their Republican allies said Hogan was just trying to raise his profile across Maryland in the governor’s race.

And at first, his vote did just that.

quote:

Touring parts of Western Maryland, Hogan’s face was instantly recognizable as he visited neighborhoods shaking hands.

“Most of those who said they recognized Hogan from his television appearances during the Judiciary Committee proceedings and afterwards said they have never heard of the Prince George’s County congressman before impeachment,” The Washington Post reported.

That time Nixon released doctored transcripts during Watergate

But the governor’s race was still in the primaries. Hogan’s opponent, Louise Gore, used his impeachment support as a dagger, saying that the lawmaker had turned the proceedings into a “television circus.”

Nixon had resigned. But Hogan lost.

“Ironically,” The Post reported, “his campaign workers say that moment in the national spotlight may have hurt Hogan.” On election night, a Hogan campaign worker told The Post that turning on Nixon was “heresy” to the “dedicated party workers” across the state.

“I lost a lot of friends, supporters and contributions,” Hogan said in a 2015 WYPR radio interview. “Many Republicans were very unforgiving at that time.”

I’ll take Abbott/scott ticket.

I will not by any means cast a vote for Haley.

I’m 100% certain that, aside from Sessions, NONE of these “bad hires” were Trumps personal preference. What people tend to forget, is that these nominees have to get APPROVED by the senate. And while the Repubs have majority in the senate, there was and still is just enough R senators that are just as swampy as the Dems that would block any confirmation that they viewed as a “threat” to the swamp.

In fact, i forget where, but i read an article fairly recently that stated McConnell straight up told Trump which people would and wouldn’t get through. Reince and spicer were forced upon him by Paul Ryan & the RNC- McMaster, Kelly, and Mattis were “recommended” by Graham, Cotton etc. it was all part of the effort to undermine his presidency and “monitor” (or spy) on what was going on in the WH.

ETA: another thing is the way his inner circle and some of his administration was treated the first 2.5 years of his term- they were drug through ridiculous investigations, forced to pay massive legal bills for attorneys to represent them, had their reputations drug through the mud- all for NOTHING. Of course, this was all part of the swamps plan as well- an effort to isolate Trump..bc nobody wants to work at a job where you’ll be slandered in the media, bankrupted with legal fees and have ur personal life intruded on. It also served as a “warning shot” to deter any future “outsiders” who would consider running for President....this is what will happen to you.

Yeah it's kinda hard being perfect at all things at all times when one has to deal with that small factor....by small I mean unprecedented. And despite it all, he still comes out on top. Remarkable.
