This thread is more like a pep rally than a political discussion.
Rep. Thomas Massie is again lone ‘no’ vote on federal stop-gap spending plan
quote:
Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie was one of two Republicans in the U.S. House to vote against a stopgap spending bill Friday, which would keep the government funded until November.
The bill is intended to avert a government shutdown, which would occur if the bill is not passed by Sep. 30.
A longtime deficit hawk, Massie said he voted against the bill because it does not cut spending.
Clearly all the spending is his fault.

This. Massie doesnt like Shirley because Shirley claims he exposed him. Massie’s response isn’t to object to Shirley’s comments on him…his response is to dismiss his comments because he didn’t also comment on others.

It’s actually a seal circle jerk more than a pep rally.
Posted on 8/15/26 at 5:24 pm to roadGator
You’re missing the point. Might want to check who is the seal in the specific instance.

You know the intent was for seal claps. And it delivered.

And you know TA completely whiffed on the point and you clapped.

quote:The OP seems to be blaming Massie, who called out Johnson, Thune and Trump—who have collectively made zero spending cuts. In fact, MAGA blames Massie for not going along with Trump’s continuation of Biden’s spending bills.
Pretty sure he is defending Shirley
Literally none of this makes any sense. Why does Thomas Massie have sole responsibility for balancing the budget instead of the GOP leadership?

I didn’t read TAs post. I was referring to the post that actually pointed out the pep rally nature of the thread. Boom something or another.

quote:Teh pep rally portion was quoted because the premise of the thread is so silly, as proven by the voting record. Some can’t keep up. It’s OK. See people just need something to argue against, because the facts aren’t on their side.

I understand completely. The point of the thread is clear. Pep rally is a fine description.
I understand the psychology behind the need to make such threads.

Looks like DeBoar lives in your head, my guy.
New Yorkers shouldn’t be complaining about the rising cost of rent, but should instead by looking for someone’s head they can live in rent free.

My interpretation of the Shirley post is that it is silly to dismiss someone’s criticism of person A because they didn’t also criticize person B, C, and D. If that is his point he is correctly pointing out the logical fallacy in Massie’s “argument.”

No you just act like everything on here is a game. You can’t actually handle discussion. Good job saving Utah though

Your idiocy is still amusing after all these years.
Thank you.

Thank you.

What exactly has Massie done in 14 years?
The previous 13 years he was a paragon of True Conservativism on this board. What changed?

This is non-responsive to his question. Answer his and maybe he will answer yours.
