Everything you mentioned with the exception of Tebow kneeling was some kind of uniform code violation. The NFL have always been giant dicks about uniforms and proper dress code. That's why it was such a huge deal with the custom cleats a couple years ago, then they relented and started allowing it to some degree.

Kaepernick was an NFL starter. You think he's not at least better than a half dozen or more back-up QBs?

You do realize he refused to offers from NFL teams because he didn't want to take the pay cut that a backup qb receives?

He got beat out by Blaine Gabbert...before he started kneeling.

We didn't salute inside, of course, but I made my kids stand for the anthem growing up. I'll do the same with my grandkids.

America isn't a monarchy. It isn't an oligarchy (except by those with money, which anyone can accumulate). It's a free country carved out by our forefathers. It's ours. It hasn't been easy and it hasn't been pretty.

But I will not tolerate, support or be around those who disrespect/insult our nation simply for not being perfect. Nothing is perfect. If you're waiting for perfect, you're going to be a miserable motherfricker until you draw your last breath.

Which explains a lot (not all) of liberals' attitudes about things.

Work to make it better, but do it the right way. Or else there will be consequences.

The combat vets of the recent and current wars that I know are almost unanimously pissed ROYALLY at the NFL and at the players for this kneeling.

They're welcome to not watch the games, or to learn the actual reasons the players are kneeling. It has nothing to do with the military.

The fricked up thing, IMO, I truly believe now, that 95% of the players are no longer kneeling because of the original ‘cause’

I firmly believe now that they’re doing it just because they know it gets a whole shitload of ‘wypipo’ pissed off.. that’s why everyone repeats the rhetoric that if you just ignore it, it’ll go away. And I truly believe that

In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray

No they didn't.

quote:

they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off.

Yes they did. They don't allow "personal statements" to be worn by anyone.

quote:

In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders.

Correct. Just like the " John 3:16" noted above, this a violation of the uniform policy.

quote:

In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.

Wrong. RG3 turned it inside out voluntarily to avoid a potential fine for violating the uniform policy since it contained an unapproved logo of the clothing company that makes the shirt.

quote:

n 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure" eye black for breast cancer awareness.

Same uniform policy violation as the "John 3:16".

quote:

In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence.

Another uniform policy violation.

quote:

In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.

Uniform policy again

quote:

2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11

No fines were issued.

quote:

NFL senior vice president of communications Brian McCarthy told USA TODAY on Tuesday that not fining players for what they wore Sunday was consistent with the league’s recent history, that players who honored 9/11 in violation of the equipment policy during Week 1 in 2011 also weren’t fined.

While McCarthy wouldn’t call 9/11 an exception to the uniform rule, he did say that any other causes players may choose to honor in subsequent weeks would be subject to fines, “provided that it’s in violation of the equipment policy.”

You're facebook forward makes 2 things abundantly clear.

1. Players don't understand the uniform policy
2. The NFL is amazingly consistent in enforcing it's uniform policy.

....thoughts?

Your thought process is dumb. He was benched and also turned down SEVERAL offers to be a backup making great money. Instead, he plays on fools like you using their emotion as a way to further his stupid cause.

My question is:

What did Colin K and all the other protesters do during the off-season to promote their cause? I don't recall seeing any social injustice rallies headed by NFL players or millions of dollars donated for that cause. I would have thought the media would have been all over that, had it happened. Did anything happen at all?

Kaepernick has donated $1 million to various social justice charities over the last year. Pretty good for an unemployed guy.

No, it's not about the military. It's about a group of weak-minded individuals that think everything wrong in their life was intentionally done to them simply because of the color of their skin. It's about a group of idiots claiming unarmed black men are being murdered in droves by white cops despite the fact that:

More whites are killed by cops
More whites are killed by cops per capita
More blacks are killed by black cops than white cops
The majority of high-profile cases they rest their case on are legally justified shootings
One of the group's leaders was proven to have lied about cops harassing him

All this despite the fact that blacks are more likely to interact with cops.

Not a single word about unarmed white people killed by cops. Not a single word about the thousands of blacks killed by other blacks. Not a single word about black culture that promotes generational poverty and ignorance.

It is simply a group of people complaining about something that has been proven to not exist in order to justify their own shortcomings, to get attention, and to get support from the low IQ populace. The protest is based on lies and does not confront the actual problems facing the black community. Stop acting like you're a victim all the time, and you'll stop feeling like one.

I think kneeling during the national anthem while you're being paid millions to play a game is retarded. It's not a respect issue with me. It's an issue of morons pushing a lie because they've been instilled with a victim mentality from childhood, despite being given preferential treatment their whole lives simply because they're good at playing with a ball.

The greatest problem the black community faces is itself, not cops.

I like your post but I disagree here. The USA is most certainly an Oligarchy now. It's no longer a true Republic, as founded. That Republic is gone and it's not coming back. We live under an Oligarchy now.

In my circles, most are tuning off the NFL, because of this issue. They are really triggered. You can't talk them out of it and neither could I.
