Did Landry write the check? Did he have the authority to fire Kelly?

It’s really a terrible look and a look at me moment. If he really cared about the football program he would work behind the scenes.

Yall keep saying this, but what Landry said is true and won’t affect a quality coach’s decision.

I didn't vote for Landry. He is just more of the same old, same old. He used the Maga base to get elected . Then tried emulating DeSantis for National fame. His tenure so far has been lack luster.

If he fires Mickey Loomis and Willie Green, I’ll vote for him twice.

I didn’t vote for the sawed-off dipshit.

THIS STATE IS HOPELESS.

Just accept it,

Look at our Senators.

Foghorn Leghorn and Traitor Cassidy.

Look at the Speaker. A weakling and a wimp.

This, he doesn’t know when to shut up and quit while ahead.

John Bel kicked students off campus for not getting the clot shot. But yall want another Dem running shite? Talk about facist Hitker shite, there ya go.

My kids weren’t going to go to lsu b/c of it. Then Bel Edwards caved under pressure and rescinded it, but not after he got thousands upon thousands injected needlessly….

Yes

The governor is head of all employees in La. Brian Kelly ia state employee. So when that outrageously highest paid coach doesnt do his job, and there is no president in place to correct that, and the AD is the one who allowed this all to happen, then Landry did the right thing

Plus, Woodward was going down the same path, trying to get another "name" coach, just to take the heat off of himself

Did anyone oppose Biden. even in the shape he was in?

Did any Dem oppose JBE?

Did any Rep oppose Jindal?

Has any Rep. opposed John Kennedy?

Ask Desantis. He jumped in against Trump, and now hes behind Vance, Rubio, Noem, etc. No La Repub wants that to happen to them by taking on Landry and losing

Landry was THE ONLY person in the state to pull this off today

Kelly is gone. Sloan is gone. Woodward will not pick the next coach

LSU does not have a president. Only Landry had the balls and the position to do this. He will win with ease
Landry didn't do any of this. Woodward, 100% on his own volition, pulled the trigger.

Stop falling for Landry's bullshite.

Nobody has written the check. Thats the problem. They know Woodward will come right back for new coach money, and they told Landry that wouldnt do it

"Some of the school’s most prominent donors, key university board members, athletic officials, and political figures met over the course of several hours Sunday about Kelly’s future. The discussions included Governor Landry and centered significantly on Kelly’s $53.8 million buyout.

According to the reporting, decision-makers met at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion on Sunday evening, just before 7 PM, where they ultimately decided to fire Kelly."

Hes the guv of every state employee

Kelly is a LA state employee
quote:

Because LSU is part of the Louisiana State University System, Kelly is a public employee, and a part of his salary comes from public funds.

And since LSU doesnt have a president, Landry can intervene under a new 2024 law

What about when he was attorney general and took donations from the perpetrator of the largest insurance fraud scheme in state history? If we had any semblance of local press, they would have been all over the fact that Landry let MMA off the hook, despite running on "fixing the insurance issue."

All he does is form positions that the Trump base forms. He has no real opinions of his own.

I can tell you with 100% certainty Landry did not make any decisions.

The decision to fire Kelly was made Sunday morning. All the money was already accounted for by the time they had their little meeting at the governors mansion, which Landry demanded despite having nothing to do with anything.

So incredibly confident, yet so incredibly wrong. The checks are written, for all intents and purposes. They are not going to be disbursed until negotiations about the buyout are over.
