The memo says: “SSG assets from [redacted] will cover CD during CD’s time in [redacted].”
CD refers to “Crossfire Dragon,” the FBI’s code name for Page.
The FBI uses SSGs to conduct on-the-ground surveillance of terror suspects or potential spies, both in the U.S. and abroad.

This is backwards. They didn’t believe Steele. They created Steele’s info. It was a fake predicate to justify the investigation. It wasn’t a mistake. It was all on purpose.

correct. Halper had Page on a wire saying that he never met any of those guys from the dossier, and some of them, he had never even heard of. They kept all of this from the FISA court and pushed for warrants anyway.
