People forget in schools where teachers care, those kids are their babies.

Some people have it, some people don't, many never have to find out.

I don't get it. This is what you train for and live for. 99% of cops are gung ho and ready to do what they have to do.

He heard gunshots and took cover downstairs and didn't move.
His duty was to run into the school and do whatever he could to drop that a-hole.

So there was a police officer on site that heard the shots and decided to duck for cover?

Man, that's a tough pill to swallow.

The deputy’s failure to act according to his job description, is easier to understand after listening to the Sheriff, and learning about the multiple calls to investigate the shooter without any action.

I hope an investigation digs deep enough to explain why NOTHING was done about this individual.

Holy hell, all the adults who failed those poor children.

The FBI ignored tips. The local police responded dozens of times and were told by tens of people that he threatened them. The school thought banning him from bringing a backpack on school grounds was enough. And now we see a Sheriffs Deputy was in position to engage Cruz during his rampage and hid instead?

I just... WTF... Honestly I could understand these teens anger towards what happened if they didn't direct 110% of it at guns alone. So many adults screwed the pooch on this its borderline unbelievable.

Since this event Sherriff Israel keeps saying, "if you see something say something".

Well, they did 23 times and your team did nothing.

Nice job.

So if an actual police officer was too afraid to make a move, we should obviously arm menopausal women to protect the children.

Your argument is, "because this guy is a pussy, everyone must be"? You actually think that is a cogent argument?

LULZ at the moron.

Cops don't get paid to do this. They've repeatedly denied they have any obligation to protect others. You think they get paid to handle bad guys, but when it comes to real threats and violence, they tend to huddle outside while normal civilians do what they have to do.

LA riots, Ferguson, Charlotte are three recent examples of this happening on a large scale.

So because the cops are pussies, then nobody else should have a chance at self defense? I don't get it.

My wife’s in education. You just lack imagination.

Elementary school children have the police called on them regularly. Homicidal tendencies can show up at very early ages.

Many police will protect themselves first and you if they can without putting themselves in harms way.
No one can protect you but you. That has to be your assumption in such situations. If most people understood this they’d want to be armed.

Seems like they have no real justification for their existence then. The ONE THING that supposedly justifies their authority is the one thing most won't do.

Yes, we should demand more of our $30k a year teachers. Not only should they watch our kids 9 hours a day, while making sure they don't choke on food, shite thnelseves, wipe their asses, wipe their snotty flu noses, write lesson plans, grade papers, make sure they get on the bus or the car, and watch them 9 months out of the year, but we should also have these teachers armed and ready like they're military.
