Yes something needs to be done, and its called "Austerity."
The problem is Americans are too dumb and too spoiled, so we will "do something" by continuing to kick the can down the road.
You cant fix this without some pain. That pain needs to be shared and brutal enough to where we decide not to venture down this same path to nowhere again.
Trump needs to ditch this tariff foolishness and focus on things that actually matter such as cutting entitlements and stripping regulations.
Everything thats happening now is unnecessary, and isnt saving us at all.

Whoa there ghost rider!!! Lol...
Trump hasn't been in office for 100 days yet!!
Your statement sounds like something a crazy person would say!!
It's funny that you used the word "moron "!
Unless you possess some extra ordinary gift that allows you to see into the future, I think you judging Trumps economic plan to be a success or failure at this point is the epitome of "moronic"!
Just sayin

Not to mention it’s the most accomplished first 100 days in any presidency ever. It’s amazing all that has been done

Only silly, narrow minded, TDS, willingly ignorant folks think tariffs are the plan. Tariffs are simply one of the tools in Trumps overall economic plan.
This has been explained adnauseum here and in Trumps admins interviews. Your not only willfully ignorant, but your amazingly dishonest.

Everything he's doing is backwards. He needs to cut spending including entitlements before he drags down our economy.

i do have a question.
the US is fighting a trade battle with a country that would sacrifice their own citizens to win. gonna be hard to win then

So you think at the end of the day Trump's only goal is a cheaper dollar?
You haven't been paying attention.

I'm sure a tanking market and economic slowdown won't have any effects on those plans

Who the frick said it was his only goal?
His goal is trade parity, which will only happen with a lower dollar because he's an idiot. Trade parity is low on the priority list of things that need addressing.

I do not believe DJTs intent is for tariffs to be anything other than a temporary tool to force better trade partnership arrangements (for the U.S.) between the U.S. and other nations.
DJT has been consistent forever in his view that the U.S. does not get an even and fair shake when it comes to trade.
You may not agree with that assessment (and I believe we can all safely assume you’ve strongly felt the current trade practices are fine) but he’s held it forever and he’s spoken to it forever. He was elected by the American people to pursue those things he said he would pursue.
I do agree regarding entitlements and de-regulation as things that shouldn’t be permanently left alone.

They have been at war with us for a long time. Trump is the first US president to join the battle. It doesn't matter if it is hard to win. It has been, since China began trying to replace us as hegemon, a war we must not lose.
If China wins we will live in a totalitarian world.

If this were actually true, we wouldnt have had the phony rollout with bullshite numbers.
He's literally tanking the dollar so exports are more affordable, and imports more expensive. Thats his plan.

This is an existential fight against Chinese totalitarianism. You just haven't figured that out yet

They can easily outlast the American public. The Chinese are accustomed to abuse and poverty.
Funny thing, the wealthier they get, the less mfg will be performed there. Just like here.
Companies are already offshoring to places like Vietnam and Mexico.

I don’t agree Roger. You don’t like this but let’s see how it all plays out in the long run.
You’ll always be able to say “I told you so.”.
But I don’t believe you will be able to say that when all is said and done.
I’ll own it if I’m wrong.

Well, he's shrinking the dollar just like they said.

The Mar-a-Largo Accord is the idea that the US will give the G7, the Middle East, and Latin America security and access to US markets, and in return, these countries agree to intervene to depreciate the US dollar, grow the size of the US manufacturing sector, and solve the US fiscal debt problems...
This was the summit that Trumps economic plan was crafted. Does this seem wise to you"?
Posted on 4/21/25 at 4:56 pm to Diego Ricardo
You simply can run a deficit of 2 trillion a year and have a trade deficit of a trillion or more for much longer or things will get very ugly.
We can probably cut 2 trillion off the deficit without cutting entitlements to the people that deserve it, the theft is unbelievable.

Your still fixated on tariffs. When countries sit down to negotiate, it's not only about tariffs. It will be any geopolitical issues, tariffs, trade barriers, and any regulatory issues.
