If the news media didn't highlight these people, no one would ever hear from them. This reporter asked some truly stupid questions and then pretended the guy wasn't answering them. It's like the intent was to intentionally make these guys look better by not refuting anything they're actually saying.
Like "what about his picture of you with a convicted pedophile?"
"We kicked him out of the group as soon as we found out" is a legit answer to that question, but the reporter then proceeded to claim they didn't want to answer those allegations. Why even put video of the guy answering the question into your report if you're then going to lie about him answering the question?
These dudes clearly espouse racist nonsense. By asking ridiculous "gotcha" questions like that and then doubling down on it this reporter just makes them look more reasonable than the news media. It's stupid and counterproductive.
ETA: It's also weird that the reporter somehow knew exactly where these guys were going to be and showed up before they were able to put together their flag or banner or whatever it was they were setting up during the interview. Maybe he got that off a protest permit or something, but if so then why weren't any other members of the news media there? It almost seems like he coordinated this interview with them but then set it up to look spontaneous.
