The arrogance of large organizations. Too stupid to understand that that will be perceived as yet another attack on their fans .

Here’s how you do it ;

The New Orleans Saints regrets Mr. Wells decision and looks forward to expanding our efforts to honor and support our military and veterans.

Good god Saints.. Why couldnt you just be adults and say

"We respect the Cmdr's decision to not accept our award and hold no ill regard towards him. That is his decision and although we wish he would reconsider we would like to at least let him know that we are sincerely thankful for what he's done and hope that we can have him back in the Stadium in the future"

LIke come on. I just wrote that in 30 seconds and it would be 100x better than that bullshite they put out.

That's what makes this funny.

Someone in their PR department makes really decent money..........and yet.............I could have gotten a better boilerplate response from probably every HS Senior in Advanced English.

How do you mess that shite up so horribly?

Honestly. If they were going to write what they wrote, they should have just written

"We were going to give this a-hole an award but now that we know he's an a-hole.....frick him".

That's what any decent spokesperson or PR dept would've said. Unfortunately, the NFL seems to be lacking in knowing how to handle PR lately

I can't even just lay this on liberalism because for frick's sake........if you are PR........you're just supposed to know this shite was bad. Regardless of politics

frick the Saints for that idiotic and demeaning response to this Veteran and as an extension to all Veterans. I hope this keeps another 1000 fans like me from attending the game.

Well it shows you how raw their asses are. I had not watched the World Series in 20 years and watched the whole series . Mrs Pimp too. I am starting to watch Avalanche games again too . There are SO many entertainment choices and the NFL does not want my business so this is easy.

I can almost guarantee that response was written by a 21 yo SJW intern from Tulane who felt the need to editorialize.

Where the PR department takes a hit is that they didn't proof it before it went out. It comes across as incredibly tone-deaf.

not trying to be an a-hole here but did you care before Trump opened his mouth? this was a dead issue until he told everyone it wasn't

no it wasn't. trump was just, again, the only public person who would tell it like it is and forced the media to cover it via their obsession with him.

are the players supposed to just take all the unwarranted abuse they are getting from fans and stay quiet?

Probably still the most popular sport in the country...
