Carrier deployments always have suicide attempts. I'd be more surprised if none were successful.

Some sailors are on their first deployment and soon realize navy life isn't for them. Others receive Dear John letters. Some lose parents or siblings while deployed and don't take the news well. Some are just crazy. And likely many other reasons as well for someone to attempt suicide.

Often times there are even deaths of natural causes during deployments.
