Very good question. I would love to see a side by side comparison. I read that women have passed ranger school, but I am not sure...

I would readily admit that BUDS/S is designed to be more physically demanding than Ranger school. Each has their own desired outcome. At last count, three women have graduated from Ranger school.

Do they get to eat and sleep in Seal School?

Women have more in common with seals than men do. They both contain more subcutaneous fat than male humans. It helps them float.

It is my understanding it is a team oriented training process. Physically demanding tasks that have to be done through teamwork. Not the leadership concept used by Ranger school. Not sure what part sleep deprivation and lack of food plays in their training. Not a graduate of either program. Just an informed observer.

There are people who have said that even if they make it they still don't belong.
They don't. When young men and women are put together in close quarters and forced to live and work together there will be unneeded sexual tension and drama. There's simply zero way to avoid that. It's an unnecessary distraction that has zero upside. We gain absolutely nothing by having women in the military. It's not a knock on women, it's just that they bring nothing to the table that a man doesn't. It'd be one thing if women actually made the military stronger BECAUSE of their gender. But they don't, in fact, they make it weaker.

We should stop spending money on all frivolous things, to include all the extra bullshite that women require.

So long as absolutely no bar is lowered, every standard kept, I see zero problem with this.

Posts like these completely ignore the small team dynamics and constant deployment stress put on these teams that would be disrupted having a woman on board.

Terrible idea

The bar already has been lowered. The bar used to be.....have a dick and don't be a pussy. That's no longer the minimum qualification.

This isn't as good of a point as you think it is. Because we already spend money on frivolous things we should waste more money?

And out of curiosity, what is your military experience aside from attending a graduation and touring facilities?

During BUDS 3 meals a day in the mess hall, during "hell Week", a midnight meal is added making it 4. Other than hell week everybody sleeps at night.

You'll eat more than you ever have in your life and still lose weight

Sleep besides hell week (sun-fri) but will still have night evolutions throughout the regular phase weeks. Get a couple hour nap Wednesday of hell week but it's makes things worse not better for most

Imagine running for almost 4 days then laying down for a few hours. When you wake up you are stiff and swollen, getting going again is like starting all over. It's not gradual either, you wake up to yelling and it's right back on the move

Could these women, if, let's say they are Navy Divers, or EOD make it through?

The absolute only way I would ever sort of think this isn't a terrible idea is if they were held to the exact same standards as men and were part of women only units.

Even then, I'd doubt their combat ability would equal that of an all male squad.

Have you ever served or is this just your hypothesis. What would her being a woman have anything to do with dynamics or deployment stress? If she can do the job, she can do the job.

There are studies with data showing mixed units cause unit cohesion to deteriorate. Why do you hate science?
