*Another is training to be in the Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Creman program
*Women just recently in January 2016 were allowed to serve in combat roles
*The women's identities have been protected to ensure their personal safety and security along with 'career viability as future special operator'
*Eight SEAL and seven SWCC classes made entirely out of males have graduated since March 2016

>You are a 225lb SEAL in combat and are downed and the only way for you to get out alive is by the other SEAL with you carrying you out

>The other SEAL with you is a woman

If this kind of circumstance doesn't raise alarms there are serious problems

Essentially yes

Instructors will ask for class leaders bottom 5 list. They focus on those guys.

She will likely receive less attention rather than be singled out though due to perception

You can make it all the way through SQT and get a Trident and never serve on a Team. Teams police their own much more stringently than the bar to get into BUD/S.

That's pretty funny. She won't make it 1 day in BUDS

How would this improve the SEALs?

The military - particularly special forces - are about defense of the nation. It IS singularly a means to an end. We don't have a military because it's cool. We don't have it to help educate our children or improve the economy. War is the only reason. Therefore our ONLY concern when it comes to the military is whether or not it improves our abilities. Does having a woman, where men aren't in short supply, do that?

I just hope they treat her like a man during berm buddy carries and bring this up. They always do for smaller guys who struggle

I attended BUD/s class 232 in summer of 2000 (I did not graduate - rang the bell) and I can say with 100% certainty that she WILL NOT graduate BUD/s considering the shite they put you through...however, unless they accommodate her and establish separate standards just for her then she might. Personally being around the instructors and having close friends in the teams I don't see them going along with that though.

ETA: SWCC is way more realistic for a woman to join. I can see a woman easily getting into SWCC

Wasn't 232 the one the book was written on?

I can see this happening unofficially. I was around 50 classes after you and it had started getting political.

She will likely have to DOR 3x for them to accept it

If she does fail she could easily give an interview trashing the teams and claiming she was singled out and ridiculed. Only thing is that's the point, they do it to every single person there. Her story would receive special attention nationally from people that know nothing about it though, demanding a culture change in one of the most successful military cultures we have. That's my main fear

The SEALS are a bunch of girly men anyway. Doubt anyone will really notice.

Not sure which book but 234 was featured on Discovery. Danny Dietz from Lone Survivor was in 232 but fricked up his back and was rolled to 233 or 234 (can't remember). LT. Commander Kristensen was the class leader for 232 (LT. JG at the time)

Exactly, and we can thank progressive dem politics for this hot mess. Obama as POTUS enacted this but he obviously didn't GAF about military bearing and readiness. Obama's politics think people have rights above military rules, regs, and basic standards. This social experiment will fail and the other poster is correct, trannies are next if this isn't put to an abrupt end.

Look at the comments after the article. Mostly all full of common sense, realizing how ludicrous this is.

Is Christionsen the same one that took the free dive record years ago?

No Kristensen was also in Lone Survivor. Eric Bana played him. He was one of the ones that died in the chinook.
