Yet we did not!

Assuming this was some malicious actor, why would we demonstrate that capability in such a setting?

How do drones operate in the middle of the pacific? Their range is fairly limited so there should have been radar picking up another ship in the vicinity.

Sure all the other countries outspent us and caught up and passed us because we didn't increase our technology. You really believe that?

The technology we were testing on Navy ships in the mid 90's have the ability to take out multiple drones or missiles and it's still top secret. How many years of UFO sightings were reported and denied it be us, byour military, just from the stealth planes. Any technology that we do admit to us most likely already decades old.

Good question, which is addressed in the article. I can't make anyone read for themselves.

You would read a story about boxing and then argue with Mike Tyson about how to fight.

Another TD post ends up in a stupid argument. When you are the OP, let people comment, disagree, agree, etc....that is what a political message board is for.

Nope, I would not.

I come a long history of career military and trust me brother, I want to believe you are right but, what I have presented should be of interest to all patriots of the United States military, going forward.

I would think.

Fair enough. Carry on.

Just curious what would you think about our Naval ships having a Possible defensive weapon that may or may not use lasers?

To be fair, the one that landed was on a boat heading into Port in Hong Kong. Would it have been a good idea to spool up the CIWS on that thing they probably already knew was a quad? Where them 20 Mike's landing?

All it takes to destroy a $1B aircraft carrier is a well-placed $10K drone equipped with an explosive charge

Eh those ships are huge and heavily armored I’m not sure a drone explosive would do much more than scar the deck black

Legit question for any Navy vets or posters who may know:

Do we armor the flight decks these days? I know back in WW2 we didn’t (whereas the Brits did), but I honestly have t seen anything on the Nimitz and Ford decks.

My question would be why they were not used. They could have shot these down with a shotgun.

Because we didn’t have to use them. That’s the easiest answer of all time.

How do we know what the Captain's orders were? They are top secret so we wouldn't know.
My uncle's job in the Navy was to try and get into naval bases without anyone knowing. He was used to test the defense. I'm just saying there is way more to this than any of us know now will we.

The smallest nuclear weapon today weighs 51 pounds. There are commercial drones that can carry more than that.
