I 100% believe that if Victoria Nuland and Bill Kristol have to choose between Russia taking Ukraine or nuclear holocaust, they prefer the latter. Life is not worth living for them if they can't break Russia.

NATO was created to stop the spread of Communism. The USSR no longer exists.
And the only thing that stopped 69 was us removing missiles we had placed in Europe to begin with NOT the Russians placing them in Cuba....and we backed down.
The hubris of many on this board is amazing, you think if NATO presses this into Russia he wont light it up.
And some of you fools will respond "if he nukes us we will nuke him". Oh thats a great strategy lets see how that plays out.

I don’t think it makes much of a difference, it doesn’t give them a new capability, and the F-16s will be just as vulnerable to Russian air defenses as Ukraines Soviet era aircraft were. If we sent 120 or 160 aircraft, assuming you have pilots, that changes things, but in small numbers it doesn’t. Without these aircraft though Ukraine would run out aircraft to carry the SCALP missiles they have, so there is a logic to it.

There are two risks. One, these aircraft will be have to be serviced by western ground crews. Presumably contractors. And they will be targeted by the Russians, which puts us closer to a direct fight. The other risk, which is related, is if NATO tries to operate these from outside Ukraine. Because of airfield issues, to simplify the maintenance logistics, and to protect the mechanics. Because then the Russians may attack where they’re based.
