Go read the NYT articles of that time breathlessly saying that Reagan was leading us to nuclear war and the moment was too big for him.

What evidence exists that he has had any meaningful success in "getting the right deal for the U.S"?

Funny, was expecting at least one or 2, but ok.

Yet he accepted it. Typical of him wanting to have it both ways.

If he really believed he didn't deserve it then he should have borrowed his balls back from Michelle/Valerie Jarrett and declined the award like a man.

there is none. He tried a pretty big gamble and it failed. I think every non-trumpican saw this coming.

I give him a B- for effort. He gets points for a bold move, but loses a lot of points for not thinking it through. Or listening to his advisers.

N. Korea cannot be trusted, and do not want a deal. Now the few people that didn't know this, now know this.

Wasn't the media (as well as a few liberals here) telling us over the past few weeks that Trump would do anything to make sure this happened? That Kim was in the driver's seat on this?

The spin is going to be hilarious by the leftist MSM and the local Progs here. Trump has them on spin cycle

I don't really fault him for trying it his way.

My concern is that unlike previous Presidents he won't accept a nuclear NK and will get into a disastrous war over it.

Kind of early with your projection there. He has been on the job 15months.

I think it's funny that people actually believed this meeting would happen.

I said from the get-go that someone was going to balk. It's what North Korea has done many times in the past. Try to make everyone happy for a moment, get on bad terms with the U.S.A., get sympathy from China, rinse, and repeat.

n. korea pretty much said last week the summit was off. They skipped a few meetings.

This feels a bit like - You're fired, no I quit.

Prediction, the summit will happen and the media will have been on record on both sides of the issue and their criticism will be neutered by their self-serving partisan reporting.

It doesn't matter if they "want" to deal. They will deal with Trump, or they will have a long & painful 8 years.

He was elected for a "deal" approach. He did the "deal" approach to N./ korea. He whiffed. it isn't that big of a deal.

I do hope that we just see it be a bit quiet in terms of threats from both sides. that shite just isn't constructive.
