Although his tour of duty in Iraq might coincide with his campaign for Minnesota's 1st Congressional seat, Walz is determined to stay in the race. "As Command Sergeant Major I have a responsibility not only to ready my battalion for Iraq, but also to serve if called on. I am dedicated to serving my country to the best of my ability, whether that is in Washington DC or in Iraq."

Whoops. He heard in March they may be going to Iraq, he submitted paperwork to retires shortly after, then lied about saying he was focused on getting his unit ready to deploy and he would serve if needed. He knew he was getting out before they got called up.

He's a POS.

He didn't have orders to Iraq until after his retirement papers were filed. What are you talking about?

His unit had PTDO.

Orders for Iraq weren't received until July. He had no way of knowing his unit was going to Iraq later in the years without orders being issued.

This is the typical bullshite statement made by those who never served and have no idea how the military actually works. Units get notified far in advance.

And he put in his retirement papers so fast that he passed up a promotion that was in process, so he wouldn't have to go to Iraq.

You must have been like an E-5 at most and might not even be an Army veteran.

It is well known what phase of the ARFORGEN cycle a reserve component unit is in.

The options were getting pretty thin. There were a lot of people better qualified who turned it down.

Individuals don’t get orders for deployment, unless being augmented or tad/tdy to another unit.

This is bullshite as there are many things units have to do well ahead for readiness.

Think of it as Brett Favre saying he will be back as your starting QB then retiring a month before the season. You can’t exactly replace him on short notice.

But instead of hastily bringing in a backup QB that turns the ball over and gives up unnecessary sacks you get sent into a War Zone with an unqualified leader and die.

Lying is a necessary distraction from talking truthfully about Trump avoiding military service altogether with fake bone spurs, navigating the sea of STDs in his own personal Vietnam, as he described it, accepting a Purple Heart as a gift, remarking to Gen Kelly that dead soldiers are suckers and losers, and all the rest of his disgraceful, disgusting, cowardly behavior.

Instead of Tampon Tim, Trump should refer to Kamala's running mate as:

Tim AWalz

Walz put in his retirement paperwork in April of 2005. Orders were issued for his unit in July of 2005.

Talk about a misleading hit piece?

The official orders are a formal piece that turn on specific legal and funding issues. This is after many months of planning. Soldiers know tentative deployment dates because it filters down through official & informal channels.

At the height of the surge in Iraq, some units were getting forecasted upcoming deployment dates while they were still in country finishing up their current deployment.

So as I said, he retired months before they received orders and nearly a year before they actually deployed. What was he supposed to do? Go back to his commander and unretire/reenlist?

Ya know how I know Kamala nailed her pick? Because you motherfrickers are just grasping at straws

What’s your point?

He knew the deployment schedule. Put in his retirement papers so he wouldn’t have to go.

Kid died less than a year after being deployed. My son in the Army deployed a year or more.

Still fantasizing about your daughter getting cream pied?

How old is she?
