Peaceful is not the word I would use to describe what the demonstration that happen the last few days.
Walking down the street wearing Kevlar and carrying AR-15's and other guns spouting hate is not peaceful.
It maybe legal, but not peaceful.
Most people see the difference between both sides. One side is full of white people spouting hate and the other side is full of many different races yelling back.
Neither side was peaceful, but both had the right to be there.

Do you really not see the irony in accusing the "lefties" of going there with the intent to cause violence when the guy who is currently in jail for murder drove from OHIO? And there were plenty of Neo Nazis and rightwing fascists there who brought weapons too. Did they bring those weapons for the Civil War re-enactment they were attending afterward? Jesus Christ.

Um, 'Unite the Right' Nazi/racist torch rally was a counter-protest that arrived after leftists had already started a demonstration at a church and around the statue. The UtR people then surrounded them.

Those were fascist sore loser lefties who had already arrived in C-ville and they didn't get a permit to hold their "anti-fascist" demonstration the night before the peaceful demonstration against removing the statue of Gen. Lee was going to be held.
They took over the park and surrounded the statue and were not going to allow the peaceful demonstration against removing the statue of Gen. Lee to take place the next day BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY including physical violence.

Did the individual who drove the car into sore loser lefty "counter-protesters" do it before the fascist sore loser lefties used physical violence to stop the peaceful demonstration which resulted in dozens of injuries?
Do you know whether the driver of the car was personally attacked or injured by fascists sore loser lefties for merely being at the peaceful demonstration and exercising his First Amendment right to Freedom of Speech even when that exercising of his First Amendment right offended some people before he drove the car into the "counter demonstrators" who were standing in the street?

You are allowed to open carry a gun in VA and the people who wore their guns did so because they knew ANITIFA and other fascist sore loser lefties were going to come to the peaceful demonstration against removing the statue of Gen. Lee and use physical violence against the people who were there to peacefully demonstrate against removing the statue of Gen. Lee.
BTW, did a single one of the "counter-demonstrators" get shot by any of those "Neo Nazis and rightwing fascists" who were open carrying guns?

If the fascist sore loser lefties had not gone to C-ville with the sole intent to use violence to stop the peaceful demonstration against removing the statue of Gen. Lee and just let the demonstration take place then it would have been peaceful.
It's not like the people who came to demonstrate against removing the statue of Gen. Lee planned to take over the streets then smash windows, burn down buildings, riot and loot like the fascist sore loser lefties do.
