My Proposal for Reparations

All reparations must start with the Democratic party. In other words, the Democratic party must be held resposible for paying reparations. It doesn't matter what the Democrats are today or that they now work for the betterment of African-Americans. Their party was the party of slavery for 150 years. The Democrats were the ones who staunchly defended Jim Crow laws, and the KKK which they helped found. Here is a quote from a Jim Crow website from long ago, "The Democratic Party identified itself as the "white man's party" and demonized the Republican Party as being "Negro dominated," even though whites were in control. " The Democratic party itself is to blame for heinous crimes against African-Americans. We need to hold the Democratic party culpable for slavery by getting the Democrats to start paying reparations to African-Americans.

Once the Democratic party has paid reparations, then I as a white American citizen will pledge to pay too. Even though my Grandfather came to this country as a legal immigrate in the late 30's. Served in WWII with honor and won his right to be an American citizen. That doesn't matter, like the Democratic party I too am culpable just because I'm white. I will not pay a dime until the perpetrators, the Democratic party, pay first for their crimes against African-Americans. I too have no connection to slavery that I can find, but I am culpable. Individuals of the Democratic party, some who are African-Americans, should not be held accountable for the Democratic party's crimes. Though the Democratic party is much more to blame than I and should therefore be punished accordingly with reparations payments directly to African-Americans.

If the Democrat party is not held to same standards as me a white American then I can not in good conscience pay reparations. Unless the Democratic party of the United States of America is punished with ruinous reparations, then we can never truly have a blended society. Even though those reparations may be the death of the Democratc party, that's a chance I'm willing to take for the sake of justice and harmony for all races.
